Ha, that's what's up. I'm anticipating a lot of new info to learn since I've never used a Samsung android phone.

I think it's interesting how this thread was created so long ago with the focus on an upcoming Moto, HTC, and Samsung phone (all released obviously) and that's essentially what we're looking at for the next few months.

The OG Incredible was my first smartphone/android device.

I've had it for about 1.5 years now, my experience with it has been nothing but awesome and then some after I rooted.

I remember using the stock rom + camera, taking alot of pictures quickly would make it crash haha. (Not on CM7 obviously)

Since I used our main line's upgrade, I could've upgraded over a year ago I believe. But I just didn't like any of the phones out there - then the Nexus was released, still held off, then Nexus "prime". Was about to purchase that, but I kept hearing rumors about the Samsung phone coming out.

Held out.. thank goodness I did. Unlocked bootloader, CM creator just so happens to be an employee of Samsung, great specs on it, (dual core or not!) good times await.

I'm getting more confused with every new phone released. Here's my current state of mind...

I am not a fan of Samsung products. I don't want to start a flame war, or debate, about Sammy... I'm just not a fan of their products.

But the SGSIII sure has some big time "internal hardware" appeal. BIG APPEAL.

The thing I like least about the SGSIII? I don't want that big of screen (and it's huge battery drain). I might be in the minority here, but I also prefer LCD screens in phones (got my plasma tv for when black level performance might actually matter). But, they did put a big battery in the SGSIII (and the option for even bigger). Props for the big removable battery.

The appearance of the SGSIII really turns me off (and I usually don't care about cosmetics, seriously!) The white one is just plain freaking hideous (this is just my opinion... no arguments please). And even though the blue one is an ok color, I really hate the chrome (likely plastic chrome-ish) ring around the edge. That is so freaking retro-ugly-tacky. Does Samsung really want to stylize their phones after '57 chevys? Give me a break... Why? Why do you do crap like that Samsung?

Then there is the big hard Home button... not a fan.

The Dinc 4g LTE is the right size for me. The cosmetics are just fine. I run AOSP now, but I expect sense 4 more to my liking than touchwiz (have not played with new versions of either). But with every new phone that is announced and released, the Dinc 4g LTE seems like a poor value***. The SGSIII will have double the RAM, faster processor, double (or quadruple) the internal storage, HD screen... etc. The SGSIII will also have much better dev support, which is probably even more important than anything else.

***And this is all coming from the perspective that I will be paying full retail price (or buying used) in order to keep my unlimited data plan.

I hope to see Orange, Asus, Panasonic, Fujitsu, Huawei, and others get a shot on Verizon! I also want to see what those 5 Nexus devices coming this thanksgiving are going to be all about.

I'm gonna keep waiting... not excited enough about any available choices to spend the money, at least for now.

Pretty much my sentiments also. I'm a one handed user with Swype on my dinc. I have a tablet with me most times and don't want a phone the size of a dinner plate. I want a replaceable battery. The dinc 3 looks great to me. Right now I have a replacement dinc 2 coming from Asurion so I will just run off contract with that. Maybe pay cash for a dinc 3 when the price drops.
Samsung Galaxy SIII T-Mo, stock rooted
Asus Transformer TF-101, Revolver 4-RC2

I want to die peacefully in my sleep like my grandfather; not screaming and yelling like the passengers in his car.

I understand the dislike for the GSIII, my initial reaction was...whoa, it's ugly and designed for humans. Then I changed my perception as time went on and I don't mind the phone size. Yea, I want a smaller display but with Verizon we get flagship devices far and few in between. For me, battery size (with the processor to complement that) and display res are my priorities. I can't say I prefer LCD or AMOLED as my only smartphone has been this Inc (AMOLED display btw) so I know it will be an upgrade. Also, I'm growing bored of Sense and want to try another UI out. Stock ICS is cool but I want options. With the GSIII, I'll get that with TW and hopefully AOSP roms. Since we aren't getting the One X, I knew the GSIII is the device that I want. I dislike the waiting game cuz with Verizon, we don't get very many options. I would have a different perspective if I were on AT&T since I could buy new devices and switch at will.

I've been getting tired of the limited brightness on my Dinc. Yeah, it was good when I got it, but as time goes on, I really would like a brighter screen. S3 got all that and more.

I am currently running an Incredible with Cyanogenmod 7.1. This was my first smartphone and I have had this phone for 23 months now. Today I decided to retire it and so I pre-ordered the Samsung Galaxy S3 in white. I wanted to get my pre-order in as soon as possible in order to retain my unlimited plan at least for the next two years.

So I just called verizon to ask about the SGS3 pre-order. Making sure I'd retain my unlimited data, etc. Then came the question of my loyalty discount. He informed me I had a $50 discount. He then went on and said let me check on all of our promotions and put me on HOLD.

He came back on the phone "we have a southern area promotion where when you upgrade from a 3G phone to 4G we waive the phones price"!!!! I asked if this applied to the pre-order, "Yup".

This totally made my day. I ordered the blue 32GB and only paid the tax on the $249.99. Activation fee was waived. I ended up paying less than $30 and am getting a new SGS3!!!!

So if you're in the southern states and upgrading to a 4G phone MENTION THIS OFFER!!!!!!!!
