I had a "wifi error", my One S coudn't connect any AP.

The problem was a bad permision on the file /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf.

Logcat gave me that :
"Cannot set RW to /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf"

So, using Es Explorer (as root), i changed the chmod of this file to rw-rw-rw and wifi started to work again. (no reboot needed in my case).

Hope this help.
thanks for this! wish i could have tested it, but i already found another solution.

i found the 0.16 TMOUS RUU posted on this site, just updated my phone from 0.15 to 0.16, and re-rooted/unlocked baseband & everything works flawlessly now!

hopefully this helps anyone who has the same issue. (almost all replacement devices being shipped right now still have the 0.15 baseband)

maybe try upgrading your radio using the RUU for your region.

hopefully that solves the issue for you!

Am using a T-mobile US phone. Updated my radio to the latest t-mobile radio with no results.

I dont have a windows machine around to run the RUU, but updating the radio using CWM or the RUU should be the same.

Hah, what did i know lol?

I flashed the RUU (1.53) - Wifi works now. I guess updating the radio using CWM is NOT the same as updating the whole system using the RUU.

In anyways, many thanks OP! I wouldn't have tried if it wasn't for your post.

Default Still having the issue

Wow,

Glad it worked for you all. I can still not get my wifi to work. Getting the same "Wifi Error" issue.

Attempted to flash updated radio - no change
Attempted multiple ROMs - no change
Factory Reset - no change
Attempted RUU flash (RUU_Ville_U_TMOUS_1.53.531.16_Radio_0.16.31501S.0 2_10.18.31501S.08L_release_262073_signed) - but got error every time I attempted it.

The evil error 155.

Anyone have any ideas on what else to try?

When you tried to flash using the RUU, did you make sure to relock your bootloader and install the stock recovery before doing so?

I made that mistake and the RUU wouldnt flash.

I had not done that yet. Just did it though (just locked bootloader again) and it flashed beautifully. Wifi is up and working again.

Thank you so much
