if some one can walk me through the basic of it, i could spend some time on it

like where's the latest github tree to pull the source code from and specifically for the Athena

then we can probably go from there and figure out the rest of the drivers needed for the sensors and touch screen, etc

the next best thing, is i might instead try to get ubuntu into it, as it has more build in drivers than android

Donation is appreciated but not required, a cup of Coffee would suffice

I'm really hating my HTC Athena; I've never been able to use it! I've always felt that it could use a better OS. Win 6.5 that I have on it is clunky and quite ugly!

Although I now use a Galaxy SII, I don't want to throw it out just yet!

Keeping fingers crossed for a functional Android port for this hell of a device!

I hate to say it, but you all really need to give up on this project, I spent literally hundreds of hours working on this years ago and during that time android and the corresponding hardware moved so quickly that it became not worth it.

I still have 2 athena's here, but the hardware is so far out of date compared to what is available now and very cheap capacitive android tablets can be bought for next to no money and I struggle to see what the athena can bring that these can't.

You will wasting your time I am afraid, if I recall correctly the GIT repo's dont even carry the code for the device anymore.
Donate if you like my efforts

Yeah, i worked on this a good bit too and even got android running on it from a jumpdrive. But it was a lost cause as we have no info on the ATI chip which meant no drivers which meant no hardware acceleration, MMC, sound, or camera's. The microdrive was working on the x7500 but there was no source or driver for the SSD in the x7510. It would've been nice and still would be since the athena's are so cool but the age and availability of information makes it impossible.
