linaro will certainly be implemented in cm9 soon....a liitle part of jpeg boost has been applied long back....as its a cpu optimisation tweek....our wildfires will gain a lot of performance boost...atleast 30 % is expected if not 100% as stated ...

lets keep our figures crossed...for the time being...as soon it gets in2 cm9 ....we will get it
LG NEXUS 4 16 GB BLACK

Its getting added to the cm 9 source, and parts of it are apparently under revision:
http://liliputing.com/2012/06/androi...to-linaro.html

Howerever, I advice you to not put to much expections in this, as benchmarks can be very misleading. It will probably be faster, but don't expect everyting to go smooth as hell. Perhaps you will at first instance not even notice it.. And on a personal note, if I've understand good, those fixes improve the efficiency of ARM instructions, I was wondering if our old ARMv6 will be suported by those fixes as well? Or perhaps they do more than that, I haven't had the time yet to look things up in detail. Finnaly: imo, we still have no gpu, so we will always have lags.

But hey, it is already proven that my opinion can be to pessimistic, as rallapag succeeded in setting everything nicely in place on the lockscreen. Big thanks for that! ;)

I'm atm very bussy, working day and night at my thesis. But from comming Friday, I will be able to do some work again. Including making builds to test that Linaro stuff ;)

Best regards,
Erwin

linaro's implementation status : http://review.cyanogenmod.com/#/dashboard/1935

This being said, (and I don't know if there's more commits to come or not) but we won't get past a 5 to 10% optimisation as this is mainly gcc optimisation and flaw fixes... (/!\ troll: i'm not saying they're working bad, it's always been sad and java before they discover what gcc has to offer )

And yup Erwinp, this will have an effect on our poor ArmV6, compiling a "more accurate" code using compilation options (-03, -fastmath, -flto, etc...) results in "better arm asm" in the end.

music to ears
at least 10% optimization would be great ! and if the poor arm v6 gets a little bit of boost also it would be great...@lst something is better than nothing...

tnks for da update bro
