No reboots here, it has been running really well to be honest.

I'm running real smooth! no reboots. The only problem I've been having is that "Samba fileshare" app is flaky with me.

Also, I wish someone would go in depth about this new CIFS support put into the kernel!!! How does one use this service???

Will be interesting to know if the standard CM9 kernel makes your reboots go away.

beta4 with standard kernel and no mods is perfectly stable for me.

I've never had a reboot because of any of the CM9 Builds, it's always boiled down to apps, and or choking my Epic's Ram, hence, I've changed the way I use my epic, as well as keep my apps that I regulary use to essentials, leaving only a few unnecessary apps as a luxury. I close out running apps before and after I use my phone. I'm using a third party kernel, and I have never had any reboot issues with it, even more, never had issues with stock CM9, (I'm usually running stock CM9 for a week or two for edification of testing out bugs for our devs)

2) Is 4G with CM9 on the Epic4G a lot slower to connect as well as being much less reliable? I've noticed that 4G has to be "nudged" into connecting sometimes and when it does connect, the TCP/UDP connections seem to take FOREVER to setup. Perhaps it's just Sprint/Clearwire neglecting WiMAX and de-emphasizing the technology because of LTE or the FC09 modem being just worse than previous SDRs in regard to WiMAX in general.
I can answer you on #1 we follow CM9 upstream closely to give our users the best experience possible without unstable patches getting in the way. We will likely wait till this merges upstream into CM9 itself which appears to be in progress.

#2 I dont have 4G coverage in my area...

In answer to #2 WiMax has been significantly faster to connect for me and I never have to turn it off then on again because it loses connection. I'm on EL30.

EDIT:

Also, can't get MMS to send properly; tried restarting & toggling airplane mode... just hangs on "Sending"

The 'Shutter Sound = Off' in camera settings does not work.
This fixed my mms not sending on various roms.

Try the temp sd card, boot to FC09, test MMS, do the profile updates, etc. Still not working? Then it's the network. If it works, then flash back to Beta 4 and all should be fine.
