what you got now is the fastboot help
so that means you entered the command wrongly

Namaste! GaneshP, AssKicker - Just like to say thanx for such a great E Z 2 use guide! I just got my XE and I wanted some flashing freedom, coming from a Rhodium ;). But the JB s-off method gave me the willies .... lol! Long story short, am now rocking the ultra smooth Elegancia Phoenix 3.9.5 ROM.

Currently I used sebastian kernel, then I would like to change kernel faux123. Please kindly guide me how I suppose to do.
Am I need to do wipe? Then do flash boot.img

Check in sensation development section.. For faux kernel.. And download the flash able zip...

If you have soff.. Then simply flash the kernel zip you got via recover.. No need to wipe anything.

If you have son.. Then enable smartflash before flashing the kernel zip you got.. That's all

Yess, I haven't S-off in other word I just unlocked by HTC dev.
It's mean when I will change kernel to faux123 I need to wipe all first, then I flash with enable smartflash before flashing,
right?

for the past month i have been trying to figure out how to gain S-Off with H-Boot 127.0000 and have been repeatedly frustrated. You showed me that i can install custom roms with S-On. I am extremly thankful and greatly appreciate your hard work.... Thank You, Thank You, Thank You

No wipe again just enable smartflash before flashing the kernel.. Then flash the kernel.. That's all

No problem, I'm glad I could help! I have to admit that I also S-OFF'd my phone now, but I see this as a great middle way!

I think you need to wipe cache and dalvik too, no?

naah not required for kernel flashing (only roms and mods)
but wiping cache and dalvik is a good practice ..which will avoid problems with apps..when rom or any mods are flashed

Thank you very much for this! I have the 1.27.000 HBOOT and was looking everywhere for a way to flash CM9, this looks like it'll work!

Just one question.... I already have CWM on my phone, if I change to 4Ext will I be able to restore my Nandroid backup I did in CWM if I need to?
