Lightbulb Please post some new method to root A9

Any ways I have tried
1)SuperOneClick (all versions)
2)Psneuter
3)Zergrush (latest version)
4)Motofail (both java ant batch script latest version)
5)Gingerbreak (Both APK and script method)
6)DoomLord's method
7)Megatron (with apk too)
8)Universal Gingerbread root 1.20 (yes,its the update.zip method)

None of the above methods worked.
If you know any other method.. please post...
and just to clear things up... i have adb fully working with A9.
and all the above methods were tested till end, they were able to detect the device but just cant root it.

There's a pretty good review of the phone (k-touch w680).
It's in Chinese, but looking at it we can pretty much confirm that the Karbonn A9 = k-touch w680.
Unfortunately I'm not allowed to post the link here as I'm too much of a noob, but I've directed my profile "homepage url" to it.
I'll add a link here later, or if anyone thinks it's worthwhile, they can add the link themselves.

I've also been looking for ways to root the k-touch, but all the results are in Chinese, and so far I haven't been able to find anything useful.

It seems the Chinese version of the Karbonn A9, the k-touch w680 runs on a cloud OS - Ali Cloud OS.
Apparently the 3G rates in China are low enough to make running and installing apps on the cloud possible. Wish it was the same here in India.

Anyway, I guess that means that the phones never been rooted before and someone here's going to have to boldly go where no man has been before!

Unhappy A9 probs

I am having some probs with my new a9

1. My vodafone 3g is not getting connected. I am only getting 2g speeds. At the top I am not getting the 3g symbol. The vodafone customer care says that A9 might not be compatible with their network. I have put my vodafone sim in the GSM sim card slot, and in the phone settings I have selected network mode - WCDMA preferred. I have also sent an sms ACT 3G to 144, still its not working. Please guide me here if anyone knows the solution.

2. The phone gets locked when I call someone and sometimes the unlock button also doesnt work.

3. The names are not displayed for calls or messages for ppl who are in my contacts!! Whats up with this?!!

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Also, If I cant use vodafone 3g I want to put another sim in my mobile, which sim can I put in the wcdma slot which will support 3g? Which network do you recommend? I live in Bangalore

jacksparrow007, please go through the thread (or at least the first post in the thread) . You would find solution to #2 and #3. Vodafone issue is new for this forum.

You need to put the Vodafone sim in the WCDMA (3G) slot.
The GSM slot supports 2G only.
