That's why I chose the paid method. I couldn't handle a heart attack if my phone got a hard brick And what if Sony wouldn't repair it because they get to know what you've done to the device.
Device: Xperia X8 Black
Digitizer: Cypress
Bootloader: Unlocked 11W48 (done with SETool2)
CPU clock: 600 MHz
Samsung 8GB Class6 ---> SanDisk Mobile Ultra 16GB UHS-I

What if you tried the Paid Method, and your phone still got Bricked?? That would be a waste of money :P

You can't do that without the SE Toolbox. Just pick a contact with the Xperia Unlock Service, there the guy has the box for it, he will do everything for you, you only have to send 24 USD via paypal, and he will unlock your device over the internet. And by the way you don't need to use testpoint.

PS. he will unlock the SIM lock of the device too

Sounds fair, but here we use Pound Sterling (£) so il have to ask him about the Conversion! How long does it take for the Contact to respond to your request & how long does the Unlock process take?

That is what works for me in my ubuntu 10.04 LTS Virtual Machine:

1 - create the file /etc/udev/rules.d/ 51-android.rules and put this content:
SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTR{idVendor}=="0fce", MODE="0666", GROUP="plugdev"
2 - remove X8 from USB
3 - restart udev service with : sudo restart udev
4 - connect X8 on USB
5 - run FlashTool

I hope this help you !
Thx works great
