Default [Q] adb and recovery

Is it possible to use adb on a non-booted system, ie. while in recovery? There are devices that can do that (persist adb service) so you can manipule files even if your OS won't boot (e.g. if you make error in modifications to build.prop or similiar).

Thank you in advance.

well technically your device is "booted" when you are in recovery, and yes, in my experience i have always had adb access in recovery. why not give it a shot?

I have tried but adb failed to recognize device (returns empty string). On a booted/running android it works.
Perhaps drivers...
I'll try to find out if time serves me (not my device, sadly).
Thank you.

I think you are onto the problem. While booted in recovery and attached to the PC check the device manager for any listed device with an explanation point. On my windows 7 64 bit machine and A200 I have had to select the device ie ADB or Fastboot interface sometimes.
