My son just got an R800AT model with build .285. I understand I need to downgrade to .270 in order to root it and then allow it to OTA back to .285.

My question is will downgrading wipe the data (apps, sony games, contacts, etc.) that are already on the phone?

Second (and I admit I haven't done a search for this yet) will unlocking the bootloader (if I decide to do so later) affect the Sony/Playstation gaming apps and store?
