Anyone know how much is the restocking fee if you want to exchange for another phone?
my restock fee was 0. they said there is only restock fees for in store upgrades, so basically if u did ur upgrade at the store then u went back to return it. i wasnt able to upgrade for another year and customer loyalty let me upgrade early but i didnt care for the htc one s feature wise. the phone was quick but to small for my liking and lacking an sd card slot. i mailed it back to tmobiles customer service place and i didnt get charged for a restock fee and they reset my upgrade once the phone gets checked out by tmobiles warehouse or whatever. im just waiting on the GS3. cant wait. but i hope it cost about the same as the htc one s does since at&t has it priced at 199. but we will see.

That may have been the case in your situation, however, that is NOT TMobile policy. In general, TMobile users should plan that they will be charged a restocking fee (if you purchase over the phone the fee is assessed to your bill so just because you don't pay out of pocket doesn't mean you aren't charged). Now, that being said many times CSRs will make exceptions, especially the loyalty department. Ok enough rant here's the official rules, note that no where does it say for in store purchased only, in fact these are the rules for online and phone purchases specifically:

Sorry, but no it's not exclusively referring to service cancellation. I'm not sure where you read that. It clearly states "returns and exchanges." Again here is OFFICIAL policy:

Look the fact is you didn't get charged...congrats! Be happy, but THAT IS NOT TMOBILE POLICY. The info I have provided is what all TMobile customers are subject to. As I already said, individual exceptions MAY apply. This 100% is NOT for canceled service only. It'd be nice if people wouldn't spread inaccurate information to users that want to know official policy, IMO.
