@astro49 Hi! I'm also staying in the philippines. How's your call quality? To me, the quality of the voice delivered through a call is far worse than iphone 3gs which I used before this phone.

No more hassle with flashing a KDZ file first, after that rooting and whatever...
Just flash this Zip-file in CWM (no matter what Version 2.3.5 / ICS you have right now.

Please note:

Wipe cache/data/dalvik/battery and also format cache/system/data/ (in "mounts and storage") before flashing the Zip-file or it won't boot after flashing!!!
After flash is finished, reboot into recovery and wipe cache/data/dalvik/battery and reboot system. Now you should be on ICS 4.0.4 and also rooted.

so how to use the 2 mirror files to form a zip file which i can flash by cwm

just found a very weird sms problem. any non-smartphone user cannot read the sms that I send from my phone with chinese v4 installed.

anyone having this issue?

I had to split the zip-file because Dropbox only allow 200 MB files.
You just have to install 7zip from here: http://www.7-zip.org/download.html
After that you can extract them and you will get the flashable zip-file.

I already was sending SMS (also international) to non-smartphone users without problem.
Do you use stock SMS app? I use the GoSMSPro, maybe you can try to install a third-party app for SMS. Please report if this could help, i will also send with stock SMS app and see if i have this issue.

Mabuhay! So far I had'nt had any probs w/ call quality, either reception or transmission on Sun cellular. I've also used my old school plantronics BT headset so far so good no probs naman. Likewise no issues w/ SMS sending. Btw am using GO SMS. I observed though that if your sms is between 147-160 characters, it will fail. so anything more than 160 or less than 147 will send.

Thanks so much for the offer on the roms. Maybe if you find any interesting or modified and debloated roms it would be a treat for us if you could dropbox it again.

BTW my observations of this rom:
1. Still has the restricted video call icon on the task bar
2. My previous custom debloated rom (loaded by a local, rooted 4.0.4 w/ cwm) had the "Android is Upgrading.. Optimizing Applications" pop up evertime immediately after booting. Now its gone Yehey!!
3. No probs with call history its all there but when initiating a call the selection for either call to Korea or call to Local still exists.
4. Battery life too early to tell but looks like its just about the same as the stock 4.0.4
5. I've started to debloat the rom so far am still quite lucky I havent had any problems yet
6. My previous 4.0.3 rom from 142 then upgraded back to rooted w/ CWM 4.0.4 had problems w/ the default home launcher and font selection. This time its back again to normal yehey again!!
7. My previous rom also has the v5.8.2.0 CWM but it's background was bare. While the bundled CWM w/ this rom now has BBS.GAODI.NET wallpaper. No big deal

@astro49 which version are you on now? The latest v4 from the chinese forum will remove the restricted video call icon, but i was experiencing 3 issues.

1. SD card scanning takes very long.
2. Every time after reboot, optimizing application message pops up.
3. Non-smartphone user receives a blank sms that was sent from my phone.

Regarding the issue number 3, the first version that @cromson shared on the first post of this thread had the same problem. (I'm using Globe network)

My wife is also using Optimus LTE, and she doesn't have the issue that I have. Her Optimus is on pure stock rom updated from official LG mobile website.

I want to report this issue to the chinese forum, but I don't know how to speak chinese! lol

Yes, i experienced the same issues except the one with blank SMS.

The "media scanning" also appeared on the first ROM, i was thinking its my SDcard but after reformatting it in the phone... still same issue. The card is new and also Class6, so there should be no problem with it. The scan is just for mediafiles (such as pictures, movies) on the card.

I also experienced a weird issue which must have to do with the "media scanning". It happen's two times now that pictures and videos which i added / made after flashing this ROM just disappeared. My guess is that it happens due to unfinished/aborted "media scanning".

I also have the optimizing apps message window on boot.

Have anyone problems with the camera? It freezes after i switch from pictures to video or after i shoot an video.

However, i will report your issues to the chinese guys and hopefully there is already a solution.
