Is it true that you shouldn't take pictures in widescreen, as it's cropping the original photo?

Anyone noticed issues taking panoramic shots of a scene that doesnt change much from frame to frame? For example, when I have tried to take a panoramic shot of a line of trees (while very sunny if that makes a difference), as move left to right the frame box starts bouncing all over the screen as though it can't find its frame of reference or something. As long as I have pretty different objects frame to frame all seems well though.

It is true. We tested it in the discussion thread that is now merged into this one. Keep the camera in 4:3 mode for the least cropping.

Still waiting on an answer from the mods about what is and isn't allowed in this thread, btw.

I like Chipotle, but I LOVE Moe's.
