You got lucky. My HT242 got a tiny chip on the top edge. It is really tiny though, but a chip is a chip. And there is definitely some chipping in the USB area.

Got mine back after a full body-swap two weeks ago. Looked nice. But Thursday it started chipping again. Had it in my pocket this Saturday at a party, barely had it out, but looks really bad now. Had the chipping registered at the store before the party, so I have the damage on warranty this time too. Getting annoying, but I don't give it up yet. I'll probably have to follow up a couple of more months, but I'll endure
My One: Unlocked and rooted (somewhat)

Looks like the MAO technology for HTC needs radical improvements, before we can be sure that it lasts as it's promised.

At this point none of us can be sure that any One S MAO releases endure for a year without chipping.

the "blue" version has an issue of it's own. i'v been using it since the date it was released pretty much and the housing (both metal and plastic parts) on the back is starting to show fade like effect, especially towards the bottom.

Can you post some pics of the back? I have not seen anything abnormal on my grey one s but it may just mean I did not notice.

It's an "eye mistake" in my opinion: on the back there's a little curvature of the metallic cover that can generate a "fade effect" on the lower part...you can notice it if you look at the phone from its side...

That little curvature makes us to believe into a fade effect...when it isn't there...

At least I believe this is the answer...

I've just ordered one of these today as I will not risk another poorly coated black version!

Anyway, I'm sure this is an isolated case as there doesn't seem to be any other reports of it.
