DONATE TO ME
Default Sony needs to do more than nothing

[ Not sure Sony will ever read this....but...]

Sony,

As a new owner of a an Xperia Play, and after learning the chief reason for purchasing it (ICS Upgrade - second to game play) has been tossed into the void, I am more than upset at Sony's approach to this matter.

Please release the source to ICS for the Xperia Play and allow the local XDA, and other, developers take over where you failed.

At present time I cannot, in good conscience, consider any future Sony product purchase because of the monies I have lost over this issue. Sony's reputation and usual quality of product has been forever tarnished by this. To actually have a working ICS, and then tell users you can't have it; after months of promises of releasing it, simply tells me that Sony has no interest in its user base and only knows to take the easy way out - which is to take the money and run.

I look forward to a change of heart at Sony. I look forward to ICS for my phone.

because samsung isn't sony? Sony is going through MAJOR chain of command changes so it doesn't surprise me they canceled it. They will probably release sources within a few months since lawsuits are starting to roll in since they did commit an actual crime by pulling it

Please let us have the ice source.
Not everyone will matter if some game are unstable.
Xperia play is just a all in one device, which os function should not be restricted.

The games that will break are likely the ones I don't want anyway.

(The only ones I play are both SEGA and run pretty well on pretty much any device - Virtua Tennis / Sonic CD).

I don't see why they cannot do a release with the Sony bloatware as an optional addon. (Like HTC did with the Gingerbread addon).

Sony are not a company to be trusted ever. (Ericsson was and still is fairly reputable.)

They released the ROM so they have to release the GPL sources that go with it.

(Did the beta actually even use the ICS kernel ? (i.e what the xoom or galaxy nexus or nexus s uses as a minimum).

(Whatever the all caps thing in red said I ignored because I think it is particularly childish/bad Netiquette).

I'm happy with GB I just wish I had the look of ics, stability in games is more important me as that's the reason I got the phone.
Would love Sony to release the source then we might get some beautiful UI
