This episode has changed my view of Samsung. I may replace it to buy a tablet with ICS but it won't be with another Samsung product.

Damn ...

... though maybe with the release of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 official ICS in July, xda developers may be able to port the kernel and camera drivers (since they are basically the same) ... hopefully, dearly, please ...

Default It's not that simple to not buy samsung any more

I can't stress how badly I wait ICS news every day and I'm sure Im not the only one.

I do have a desire z / g2 and i can't give a damn about ICS or not, because i got a super sweet GB rom and is fine, but our tablet we know they are struggling with the HC +TW mess, I did install overcome and the devs are amazing, but we all know the real deal is ICS.

what samsung does is beyond bad, but somentimes you have no other choice, I went for the samsung tab because was the right size, at the moment ot buy I have the choice of Archos G9 80 or samsung (no other 8" tabs where available)
and to add insut to injury Archos have ICS since long time :S

And now that in a couple of months my phone contract expires and I can't see any qwerty phone and If i can't get a one of thoose i would like to get something different (no interest at all on a 4.+" generic android), and the only thingh that can be somenthing different is ... Samsung Note lol

so I really truly hate samsung with passion by now, but probably I would have no other choice in a couple of months ....

tell me about brand loyalty

Is everyone basing this just on the Telus leak?

Why would that confirm anything?

They are releasing the ICS upgrade for the Galaxy Note a month after Samsung's release worldwide. If that holds for the other devices (i.e Samsung release + 1 month) I expect 10.1 will get ICS from Samsung end of this month and 8.9 sometime in July - or am I being far too optimistic?

Because sometimes they tend to prioritize carrier models. Who knows, I just threw that bone and we are all speculating. Let's just hope they release it quick and bugless.

Good news, after long waiting Samsung will finally start with the Android 4.0 updates for the Galaxy Tab 7.7 – 8.9 –10.1.
The updates will start in July but the most updates are planned for August.
I'd say August is about right for the 8.9
