We're gonna need a new kernel to flash it up to, right?

These new leaks are why I'm waiting to do more updates and flashing, I'm on .206 and it works fine, so I'm just waiting till things play out. I'm glad to see these leaks and so much progress because it means things are in the right direction.

THANKS FOR THE HARD WORK!

Oh if you're on 219 you should easily be able to use rsd light to fastboot 219 then go into stock recovery and flash the update zip to 208.

I probably did the flash back to GB with the method you are speaking of, probably 10 times before it completed. But I am a testament that it works. After that, I did the kernel flash, and then the 208 install and root.

I was one of those that lost root because of the funky _mktemp problem, but this intrusive way of flashing to 208 resulted in a 208 install, with root again acquired, and now safestrap 2. I wish there was rom I could use on a safe system, but at least I have a nandroid backup and titanium backup of all my apps on ICS vs my old GB backups.

I am starting to wonder if it may be that I am using the Eternity program (because I'm on Ubuntu 12.04 exclusively, don't have windows at all) instead of the RSD lite. It is suppose to work, but it's not even wiping my info on the phone when I run the program. I've tried it so many times I got sick of it and hadn't messed with the phone for a couple of days.

Just flashed 6.16.212 last night,

First thing, works fine on HSPA+ networks (I'm on Rogers). Also I was able to root.

System Version - 6.16.212.XT894.Verizon.en.US

Android Version- 4.0.4

Baseband version - CDMA_N_05.11.01PLTEDC_U_09.11.00

Webtop version wt-3.0.0

Kernel version

3.0.8-g29cf5e7
hudsoncm@il93lxdroid50#1
SMP PREEMPT Tue Jun 19 01:52:28 CDT 2012

Build number - 6.7.2-180_DR4-16_M2-32
Build Date - Tue Jun 19 01:28:00 CDT 2012

Looks like they haven't changed the kernel or baseband versions since .211, maybe we are getting closer, and this was less of a test build or something?
