I tried too and you are right... even if I don't need/use it, happens exactly what you described

really don't know where to look, but if you have news feel free to report here so I can implement (above all coordinating with Sandvold)

anyway I published on dropbox mirror here:

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/8zl76aoew...t.bounceme.net

a test version of 13.1, where I made some mods... the goal is to try avoiding random 2g/3g disconnects, plus not re-gaining network or simply data after wifi/3g switch

issues reported many times here & there

anyway I just used or better I think it should work with a trick, simply re-settings rmnet (isp provider) dns after every display off state (generally rmnet are provider dependent)

in conjunction I added newer ril libraries (2.2.0019G) that "seem" to give good reception combined with a better battery life, but I still have to test deeper... so we have to test

I still wonder if you may add theme manager/theme chooser to this ROM. It will made this ROM more perfect!

Default Nice and very fast rom but cannot be used for everyday use

First of all I applaud the effort.
This sure is an amazing rom, one of the fastest I have seen.
Very smooth and a true eye candy.
However, I faced some major issues which lead me to abandon it.

1) Random reboots. If I am playing a game and receive a phone call, there are high chances that phone will reboot. Not being able to receive a phone call is a very big issue.
2) Wifi and 3G data is highly inconsistent. The reception could be very good at times and suddenly stop working. My 100 mbps wifi that works like a charm with Gingerbread rom can good from super high speed to zero in no time and for no apparent reason, while I am sitting at the same couch.
3) Apps requiring data connection will simply hang if I switch to another application. Eg. if I am on Google + and switch to gmail then G+ will hang. I have to kill it to be able to use it again.
4) Hardly any toggles ( now this is a very minor issue and I do not expect it in a still developing rom).

All these issues are totally understandable in a beta rom. Overall I am very happy with the rom and the effort, just that its not for everyday use.

P.S:: I did a full wipe + dalvik wipe and installed on CM2 with S-Off.

never happened to me, but it could due to memory request, unfortunately ics needs much more free ram (to be smooth) compared to gingerbread, anyway I make some experiments to give more free ram during display on against display off state, this should give some stability improvements, but as I told still testing some combinations

this is a known "issues" related to latest kernel published, we have to wait some more optimization, but we can't miss latest kernels because they work together with hw acceleration, even if I barely noticed only 3g disconnects/data drops, while on 3 different wifi AP (work, home, fiance) I get a stable connections such as I previous got with gingerbread (I used oxygen before switching to ics)

never noticed, at least under wifi signal (I'm on wifi almost 90% of the day)

as you stated all ics ported roms are still under an heavy modding status, I remember also that 1st gingerbread roms generation were a pain

upon my personal opinion ics ported roms are ready for everyday usage, apart some 3rd part app related issues (remember that some app aren't yep optimized for ics) I don't have any major issues, even if I must admit I reboot often my device due to many tests/flash I do everyday, but it happened that I kept the rom without rebooting & without issues for more than 48h consecutively

you can incorporate those 2 apk by yourself, it isn't difficult at all...

simply download original Sandvold ics rom, then extract (/system/app theme*.apk) & inject directly into this slim rom (always under /system/app)

it should work (you wont need wiping too)

under settings I suppose... anyway have you tried or better you know for sure that theme manager works under Sandvold original rom?

perhaps there is another small apk to re-insert, but I don't know how they are linked all together, I can try this evening...

I can run theme chooser from Sandvold, but it seems like that this ROM does not recognize Theme chooser as an app for this ROM.

I suppose you installed two apk under /system/app... right?

just for curiosity, have you tried to put apks under /data/app? (I saw on Sandvold installation script that on cm7r2 they are copied under /data/app)
