thanks in advance.
You can use most 4.x ics ROM, I use Tiramislim ROM for example. Use semaphore or devil kernel.
Then simply install a car app and audio redirection, that's all. No need to edit files with semaphore or devil Kernel.

I prefer Slim Rom with Semaphore ICS Kernel. This combination provides a great battery life and pretty good performance (much better than GB)

Using Android 4 on Samsung Galaxy SIII (Slimbean 4.2.2 Build 5.5, Devil Kernel) and Acer Iconiatab A700 (Stock, rooted)

Thanks. I've been reading through the development section and decided to give ics333 a try.

Hi,

I just installed Tiramislim 2.0. (default settings, devil kernel) and Galaxy Dock Sound Redirector app on Google Play
Audio redirection works great, (with music player , google navigation) but with phone call i can only hear. Microphone doesn't work (of course it works when i'm not using Samsung galaxy s vehicule dock kit official)

Do you have the same issue ?

Thanks

Im a noob so this is just my 2 cents.
I think on a phone call the dock triggers audio out to the usb but it does not activate the speakerphone mic mode.
So basically the mic will only capture the sound if u speak directly into it.
I just press the speakerphone button when I get a phone call, the audio redirect stops and uses the loudspeaker on the phone to output audio but the speakerphone mic mode gets activated so I don't have to put my face right next to it for the other person to hear me.
If there is anyone here who knows how to keep audio out redirect and still have the speakerphone mic mode on the tip would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Here is the workaround for those who are unable to redirect sound using ICSSGS RC4.2 and XCaliburinhand's Galaxy Dock Sound Redirector:

Edit your /system/build.prop file and replace the following line
ro.product.manufacturer=unknown
with
ro.product.manufacturer=Samsung

Reboot, finished.

Confirmed working on Icy Glitch V14b5 kernel, should also work on other (redirection capable) kernels (e.g. Semaphore 0.9.x). Latest Icy Glitch kernel has now full voice call redirection also working!

Be extra careful when editing build.prop (create a backup of file etc.)!

Details: I checked the source code of Dock Sound Redirector on github and found that it checks if: 1. the manufacturer string is 'samsung' 2. /sys/devices/virtual/misc/dockredir/dockredir_support file exists and contains '1' in the first line. If any of these fails, will throw the error message.

In this thread, you'll find a CWM-flashable (latest) version of Google Car Home -- could be also interesting.

Have a nice day,

hi, I just saw this post again and would like to make sure I understand correctly.
are you saying with icy glitch kernel I can have call audio come through the dock and have the speakerphone mic mode activated at the same time during a phone call?
I am on ics333 with semaphore 1.2.6 and have audio out working fine without editing build.prop.
but i had given up on trying to get speakerphone mic mode and call audio through usb.
can this work on semaphore if I edit build.prop or do I have to be on icy glitch?
