As long as I have a way to make it mine (since some companies say it's still theirs, even though you paid full price to own it), I'll always root/jailbreak/etc.

I've been messing with electronics since the mid-nineties.

The Palm Treo 700wx got me started in 2006 with app building and mods
Treo keylight was my first project giving user control of keylight off/on.
Then from there I started Treo Alert project giving user repeat reminders etc it was a hit.

Mightymike use to have the best roms. When he released roms his servers would crash. Nrg would come out with the latest and greatest for EVERY phone. Thats where sense started and always was memory hog. Back when xda was mainly a gsm website. Cdma people were all at ppcgeeks. I still see a few guys every now and then from ppcgeeks. Calkulins a legend. And ziggy, tsowen, santod with their themes. No2chem, conflipper, cmonex just to name a few. Lol

+1 ppc6700!!!! thought I was the only one!

I started messing with phones with the LG VX4400 when I was putting custom wallpapers on it and mp3 ringtones. I eventually made my way up to the Touch Pro and I was running a new rom on that phone like every other day. I made my way to the Hero and I couldn't get enough of CyanogenMod on it. Seven android phones later here I am on the E4GT changing roms every other day once again.

Wanted to delete all the porn searches from my market history on my HTC hero ... found xda and the rest is history

I had a ifail 3g and 3faq and I was bored of apples restrictions. I got a HTC Evo og and I was used to jail breaking, so I rooted. I never really did anything with it.
I then got a epic, Evo 3D, and then this. I was googling stuff about this phone and came across here. I have been addicted since.
My fiancee gets tired of me talking about my phone, yet she is on a custom ROM for better battery life lol.

I didnt like all the sprint crap on my samsung instinct, so I found out how to remove it. After that I got a samsung moment and found joeykrim and noobnl over on sdx....several bricks, I mean phones later Im here I also have to put a shout out to vampirefo, littlejth, and meatcurtains. Those guys taught me everything I know about linux and compiling.

I think I rooted my OG Epic once but never got into flashing any ROMs or really doing anything beyond simply rooting it.

Fast forward to, oh I don't know, January of this year when the ICS leaks started popping up and his one-clicks made it beyond simple to flash a new build and get root at the same time. That slowly led into trying out Calkulin's ROM, which led to trying out Agat's ROM, then a few Venum ROMs, then the Nocturnal Venum and finally to Blu Kuban which I've been on forever now. And for brief spells I got a taste of both AOKP and CM9 while helping test for the emmc fix.

I'm leaps and bounds ahead of where I was in this process only 6 months ago but I can't stress enough that I doubt I would've even attempted it if it hadn't been for sfhub's easy peasy one-click packages. So I send a huge thank you to all those mentioned (and the untold masses who support them)
