had a weird issue last night i'm pretty sure it's NOT related to the rom but just mentioning in case either it is or if someone else comes across it.

I was checking my battery life (which is insanely great btw) and I figured I'd take a screenshot to show how awesome it is. When I took the screenshot it never saved and I got an error that my SD card is damaged. Thought it was kinda odd because it was working fine right before I did that. I formatted the card and all is well.

Like i said, may be totally unrelated but figured I mention it just incase.

Onto the battery life...amazing...simply amazing.

-Download ROM to your PC & Transfer to Your SDCARD
-If on Sensational, Boot to your Current Recovery and do a Nandroid of Your Current Setup
-Then Flash to EL29 Kernel/Recovery or do this before Nandroid
-Wipe Cache (maybe a couple times)
-Wipe Dalvik Cache (maybe a couple times)
-Factory Reset (maybe a couple times)
-Flash the Latest Modem (optional)
-Wipe Cache
-Wipe Dalvik Cache
-Navigate To the ROM and Flash
-Boot up and Enjoy

This is just one way to do it.

El29 recovery? Your meaning the recovery I sorta flashed for gingerbread the 5.0.2.7 or something like that? Or do I for sure need the ICS EL29 recovery? I used the repacked EL26 before on EL29 and worked perfectly. Could I do the same again?

Edit: or could u recommend me a direction to the correct recovery so I don't mess this up lol. I've been around a while and this flashing recoveries before flashing is kinda different. Thanks for your help

How is it so hard to follow OP flashing instructions?

Odin/Mobile Odin kernel with stock CWM recovery - Preferably EL26 or EL29
Boot into recovery and wipe Factory/Data, cache, and dalvik
Flash ROM
Flash Hybrid Gapps
Reboot

That's right you're supposed to use the EL26 Clockwork Mod Kernel (which is for gingerbread).

When you mobile odin the el26 kernel the phone reboots.

It won't boot past the samsung galaxy splash screen as the kernel and rom you have installed will be incompatible..

The easiest way i do it is like this

DL the EL26 CMW Kernel

Copy to internal SD card

Download and install mobile odin

Turn on wifi

Open mobile odin and let it download whatever files it needs

When mobile odin open press the kernel field and select the el26 kernel you downloaded

Press the flash button

Press the button when prompted to check the md5

It installs then reboots

I usually pull the battery and then put the battery back in

Press the power button and volume UP button at the same time, when the samsung galaxy splash appears release the power button but continue holding the volume up button.

Then it will boot into Clockwork Mod Recovery

Follow the rest of the OP's install steps, reboot and you're done.
