Advice with original (I don't think so) white housing bought on ebay

This is my first post here so I should present myself firts. I'm from A Coruña (a city of Spain) and have desire with CreativeSense rom (2.3.5 and sense 3.5). I like my desire but the housing had a lot of scratches so I decided it was time to change for the white one.
I bought this h t t p :// w w w .ebay.es/itm/300618827683 thinking that it was original from HTC. The housing arrived a few days ago but I'm really dissapointed with it.
My old housing has a kind of rubber coat (you know what I mean if you have one) but this new white housing hasn't it. The new white one has a ceramic-style coat that when you push with the nail it jumps into bits, it has its first scracth yet in a corner (maybe because shipping)

White desire was not sold here in Spain so I don't know if the white housing has the rubber coat too. Maybe someone here has one and can clarify this.

I'm thinking about claiming my money back through paypal/ebay.

Correct me If im wrong but I don't think the desire ever retailed in white, so the new bezel and back you bought will be 3rd party made which is why they have a different feel / scratch easy.

If you arn't happy with your product contact the seller and see if they will accept a return based on the fact it was "damaged" on arrival. You may have to pay for postage back to the seller and you will not get a refund on the original postage but seeing as you paid $30 I would try and return it.

If the seller doesn't comply take it up with paypal!

I do not believe that was a Desire in white, therefore HTC would not do only the white cases

The desire was indeed offered in white here in Singapore.

My main question is about the white desire housing coat. If it's soft-rubbered I'm going to claim thought paypal because seller send me a non original part (saying it was original from htc). If it's non rubbered It means that my housing could be an original one so I'll only ask the seller to send me another battery cover without scratchs.

it was also sold here in austria in white. Had one in my hands, and it feels definitively different compared with the original color. So might be original!

The desire retailed here in Sweden in white. It does indeed have a slippery coating. Did not enjoy it compared to my brown one. Yours might actually be a original.

Here (in Belgium) the Desire bravo is sold in either brown or brilliant white. I personally wanted a black cover, but its not available here... The brown just looked nasty, so went for the wite. It does not have the rubber surface u speak of, but the paintwork isnt scratched so easy either. However, after a year now, paint on the corners tend to fade away, showing the initial white plastic. Buying a white desire was a bad idea. But since i really dont like a brown phone, i had no other choise..
