Bottom line it's not the first time you imply or outright say that you discovered the Root method. I'm pulling your card because you decided to pull mine. I've tried to be nice to you since jump street. But lately your running around here posting up like your the Mod. Your NOT. I'm here to help everyone and anyone. Also to learn what I can from whoever I can. That means Newb or Dev, doesn't matter to me. If I can learn from them I will. But straight up you said " My method ". So if you would like we can bury this ISH and move on. Or do you feel the need to continue?

I'm not hating on anyone. Also I never said ISH about otaking or even mentioned him till now. Oh and BTW please don't threaten me like some two year old. With having someone come to explain something to me. I am extremely grateful for all the work people have put in to attaining Root for us, Otaking71, Indirect, all those who helped. I'm pulling Vicodan's card. He's been strutting around here posting up like he's knows everything about everything. The straw that broke the Camels back was directly telling me who I can and can't help. And what I can and cannot do. I appreciate and give credit to anyone and everyone who deserves it. But I also do not include myself for credit if I do not deserve it. I also do not take Credit for someone else's work. So enough with this already.
Just trolling here but there is a post somewhere here on xda where otaking basically said viccodan done nothing but be a tester hahahahahahaha. Anyways have at it shifters I'm done.

Did you watch all my videos and read my entire guide in its entirety?

You'll notice my videos actually take 2 hours+ of dedicated time just rooting 2.3.4 from an expert's perspective who's done it a billion times.

Not mad or angry. Try never to get that worked up, bad for everyone . I do need a vacation. Might take your advice on that.

Just here to stir up the pot, but the battery pull trick is nothing new, so saying "you" found it is mostly false. Maybe first to try it on the shift. But the battery pull trick has been around since the froyo updates. It basically just stops the post_boot.sh from running. Which installes things back to normal after boot. And that is what was preventing the changes made from sticking after bootup. So all this bickering about who found what and did what first is all irrelevant to any development from happening in the future. 99% of android development is from others, so this whole I did first is the one major flaw in any android development for any phone.

*Sorry end rant*

Yes but the post_boot.sh wouldn't run if you shut down the phone with the power button theoretically because you're using HTC's shutdown script. I don't think post_boot.sh is the script that protects hboot. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Again the whole point of the battery pull was that it does something on SHUTDOWN not after "post successful boot".

I guess we were first to try it on the Shift, I do remember now that otaking said this trick was done on other phones.

Now imagine we had you on IRC with us at the time, we could have figured that out in 5 minutes instead of a few hours.

Hey guys, well my wife's shift keeps rebooting sense all the time, so I thought I would just root the thing and get rid of all that rubbish. . I see its not a 1 click situation, but I still want to tackle the project. I have read all of Vicodan's thread and watched the videos and I have read all of Indirect's method. They seem very similar, But my question is, in Indirect's method using the shiftysonofA script. I suppose I could be an idiot.. But is the script only ran after all the steps in the OP are done.. Or is the script a stand alone option in lieu of doing all the steps in the OP?

Thanks
