So, can anyone help me with some pros and cons of CronMod vs. BananaBread? I currently use and like BananaBread, but I'm always looking at other alternatives. I'm especially interested in:
- Battery Life, battery life, battery life
- Stability
- "Speed" in terms of application launch time and app switching
- Anything else you could mention.

Thanks a lot for the help!
From what I have been testing:

Data2Sd is magnificent, you don't have to worry about space in your phone and application data is always put on the sd card too!

Theming ability, makes the phone look wonderful

Is fast, if you use autokiller memory manager I always get 40 mb free in the phone

Disabling animations makes it even more responsive

Overall fells fast, I recommend it.

P.D. don't use United Recovery, it causes errors and bootloops.

Current:
RAZRi (XT890)
Unlocked Bootloader and Rooted (mattlgroff)
ROM Retail EU JellyBean (4.1.2 mattlgroff fastboot)
AIO MODv6 by rickwyatt and arman68 (swap sd, flash player, kernel, battery up!)
CWM Recovery (turl 1)

Former:
Black German G1
Froyo By Laslo (As alarm clock)
SPL 1.33.0013d/Radio 2.22.27.08/H-Boot 1.33.0013
Total RAM 110MB CWM

BananaBread requires CustomMTD which this ROM doesn't require. I haven't used BananaBread because the last time I tried to setup CustomMTD it nearly almost bricked my phone.

Ok, to answer your question, this rom is amazing, I'm not sure why but I actually switched to and from this and a 1.6 rom to compare battery life because I couldn't believe it, how this was giving me so much more battery life than a 1.6 rom.
So battery is excellent.
As for stability, its really good, but if you use data2ext, and end up installing a lot of apps it may get a little unstable, I noticed this on 2 time installation of this rom.
Although I have a lot of apps, I have 31 apps that I have downloaded myself so far (Just cant get enough of the amount of memory with data2ext) and I have got some little slow downs and force closes. Sometime out of nowhere I press a button to light up the screen and realize that the phone was off, so there are some little unstablity problems after intalling a lot I think, but not much.

For Speed, well I used BananaBread, before and I have to say for sure, this rom is faster. I notice this performing a lot faster, first thing I did was disable Compcache, and JIT, and Overclocked, and it performs perfect. Even better if you disable animations.

Overall its a very good rom, its also very good for games.
I would give this rom a rating
Battery = 5/5
Speed = 4/5
Stability = 3.5/5

I think its amazing, its very fast, and actually holds up there with a lot of froyo roms, which froyo roms seem to perform very fast on G1. Hope this helped you.

I actually already installed BananaBread with the CustomMTD, and I didn't have any problems. But how do I go back to the original MTD layout if I decide to install CronMod?

Thanks!

Ok, I'm now running CronMod....

Guys, this is a SERIOUSLY well done ROM. Very nice work! I'll write up a more extensive review later on.

Thanks so much!

Ok, had some issues with my EzGingerbread rom (became a bit unstable, sudden reboots) so tried to install this one.
Followed the suggestions in the OP. The only thing that didn't work was clear battery stats. That was just ignored by the recovery.

Continued and installed but my G1 starts and immediately powers down again and reboots etc.. (in a loop)

Now I see issues can be solved by using anykernel? What is that? I searched on the forum and only see references, but not a direct link to anykernel.
Help is appreciated thx.

WARNING - updating of superuser from the market has caused my phone to freeze at the phones boot screen. Unsure if there is a fix. Using the old one will work just fine.

Update: problem has been fixed.

I suppose a problem within CronMod, because updating ADS_Magpie/ezGingerbread works without any problems.

Rom: IcedADS_Magpie Gingerbread (2.3.7) based on ezGingerbread and Firerat's magpie
Recovery: Amon RA-Dream-v1.7.0 (MTD:90/2/114, 1.33.0013)
Radio: 2.22.28.25 SPL: 1.33.0013d SD Card: 8GB Class 6 - ~7.2GB Fat32 / ~500MB Ext3

Nexus 7 (16GB), Android 4.2.2 (Rooted Stock)
