question regarding this rom

hi I apologize first if I missed it, but I re-searched so much my head is spinning already....

I would like to know if the nightly has working phone dialer and blutooth? I would like to pick up a T849 (t-mobile GSM version).

First off id like to thank everyone working on the OG Samsung Galaxy Tab builds!

I got myself a Verizon Galaxy Tab from an old client, and was at a loss for a week or so before fumbling around with getting it up to date (odin snafu, then cwm snafu, then aokp snafu, and finally onto CM9).

Thankfully, I managed to get it all setup without a brick!

I have a few questions, most of which I will experiment with more later, but I wanted to say thanks here, loving CM9 on my VZW-GTab!


The one question I do have is... and im prepared to get flamed for it: I like my NON onscreen keys (capacitive IIRC), and I am not a fan of the wasted space of the bigger bottom bar and buttons, so my question happens to be is there an easy way to change the device/rom to phone mode? I know theres that Paranoid Android that just went Open Source that can do it on other devices and much more, but I honestly am only right now interested in this particular change.

That is the line that would normally be on top (like with phones). It has the clock, som status icons, allows you to bring up the notification area, etc. Although it may feel like it, you haven't actually lost anything. It's hardly wasted space.

its 2x as thick, if im running irc, trillian, updates, server notification app, theres no room for the icons, I have to actually click the notification bar to see them, oh, and the annoying back/home/taskswitch+sometimesmenu....

Mine is certainly not twice as thick. I get the feeling you are comparing physical dimensions with a phone.

Fair enough though. Just thought I'd mention the functions you'll be missing that aren't duplicated from the physical buttons. I deactivated mine, so I only use pure tablet functionality now.

20120622 didn't worked for me

Unable to update to 20120622 - it stopped during the flash and i had to restock to get recovery.
I got back on 20120621 without any issue.

First of all, I would like to thank the Sgt7 for the great work.
I've being using the 19/6 build which runs very nice.
Noted that the video out sd works, but sound is not send via the cable.
It also needs to be set each time.
The browser works really nice, sometimes it crashes when using flash or heavy pages.

First: like almost all statistics thrown out, it was in err on my part!
Having said that, I went digging and got a screenshot from a GB VZW-GTab and one from the CM9 thread, and again your right, its NOT 2x as thick nor even 1.25x. That being said, im a space/minimalistic whore, and ill "showcase" that in a second

Second: What functions will I be missing? I normally change the Search buttons function (I NEVER, I mean NEVER use Search) for both short and long press (along with home), so color me generally interested.

Again, not even 1.25x larger, but enough for me combined with my non-use of the buttons or "extra functions" it provides, to want it replaced

EDIT: I am seriously OCD for my setup's... I trim the .zip before install, replace things, and despite my best attempts at trying the newer launcher, NONE, I repeat NONE OF THEM give me the functionality/minimalistic/utilization that ADW Launcher EX v1.3.3.1 gives me... Q_Q

I understand what you mean. I prefer minimalism myself, but without messing too much with standard functionality. I think the search should be an optional widget and the Apps button should be moved down to the clock/icon/meny-bar, that way we can get rid of the top bar, which I find unnecessary. But I want that bottom bar there, although hiding it until needed (like some apps do in fullscreen mode) would be a nice option enhancement.
