I also search, try some but not find one I can fully trust without being over expensive. So I build mine. I use an armband with a base I build. The pictures below are with an Acer Liquid Metal, my former phone. I just switch to XS, by a new armband, and I'm ready to go on road.

I you like DIY things, this could be an option.

I did thousands miles on road, tracks even bad ones I also suffer few light falls, and the phone never move!

I'm thinking of making a bracket to carry my phone on the bike, but I fear that the vibrations eventually spoil the phone.
Does your cell well yet? You use the bike for Through field?

It's not clear on the pictures posted on google+ link, but under the black tape there's a bit of foam as to avoid any possible issue with vibrations or shocks.
I have to point that my bike hasn't any suspension and I'm often on paths and tracks. No damages on former phone (the one one pictures) and the current one. I did more than 1.000 miles. Never falls off (even when I did). As the phone is really well attached (no move possible, no slide...) no damage can be caused by bumping and bumping on the bike. I also think that as there's no moving part in the phone, vibrations or else should not be feared. For example games based on accelerometer are always fine.

But this is for my own design, I don't know what you have in mind... I hope this helps.

The only point I need to find an improvement could be on a hand-free kit in case of incoming phone call.

And if you search for a great copilot, just give a look to oruxmaps!

Default Re: phone case with bike mount

I use a $1 adjustable bike mount. Its fixed to the bike permanently - it was a dollar, it can be replaced - and I just tighten the bracket when I'm using it on the road; e.g. Strava, hands free via JayBird BlueBud X

This setup isn't waterproof though, but I only ride in good weather/snow.

Sent from my Xperia Sola using xda premium
Sony Xperia Sola (MT27i - Pepper)
ROM: CM9.1 - FreeXperia Project

HTC HD2 (LEO T9193 - Leo)
ROM: [NAND] NexusHD2-ICS-4.0.4-CM9-HWA
Radio: 2.15.50.14
