Don't know what everyone else is talking about, but that new boot logo is simple and awesome. Even though I would have preferred a blue flat simpler image of Android guy rather than a 3D glossy one, it is still much better than the previous logos.

And just like usual, new kernel is running fast and smooth.

Also, can anyone please help me out with the following:

1) How do I use the radio on ICS? I enabled the Radio FM modules from Semaphore app but don't know what to do from there.
2) What is WiFi PM FAST? I don't recall seeing this option before.

Thanks in advance.

you know what? there's lots of things that affect your battery performance.

what you should do is to do a re-install of your Rom but with a Factory Reset.

so:
- factory reset / wipe
- dalvik wipe
- install Rom
- Install gapps
- install your favorite kernel - 1.2.5 or if your Rom supports it, 1.2.5s

configure your gmail and restore ONLY the minimum apps you need.

THEN see what your battery use is. You'll be amazed.

Is there any logo ? dont remind... is it important ?
1) enable Radio FM module and download Spirit FM.
2) search 2 or 3 pages back http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...postcount=5440

I agree that there are lot of possible issues which can cause battery drain. However, factory reset + minimum install is a way too radical solution (and the fact that a minumum install will have low battery drain has been shown before)! I would simply install Better Battery Stats. This allows you to see which process is using all this battery. This helps in finding a real solution.

I've had a few episodes of battery drain over the last years but never resorted to a factory reset, I always found the problem using a battery-stat app and then solved it.

of course that is a valid approach, but e.g. normally I just flash new cm9 version and continue to work just fine, but recently I felt battery life was not as it should be and I did a factory reset and loaded the exact same rom, kernel and apps that I already had - but it ran better.

I'm positive that every once in a while a factory reset has added value as compared to normal maintenance. Maybe somebody has the numbers or logic to back that up (have to admit that I don't)

Not something you want to do every day or even every week, but maybe every couple of months.

I tend to agree here, as a matter of course I flash back to gb ezbase every 4-6 weeks and do clean instal, it's like taking the car in for a service, keeps it tight, clean and fresh! A totally non technical view, but then I always judge by the user experience, just my humble opinion

I never do a factory reset. Or, to be more precise: I did two of them in the last 2 years: one going from SamsungROM->CM7. And one from CM7->CM9. The way android is set up, I don't believe a factory reset is a necessary solution. It's better to keep track of the apps you install and the other things you change, than to start completely clean every-now-and-then.

But he, that's my humble opinion. If others are completely happy with completely different solutions, it's fine with me as well...

I've flashed a lot of ICS ROMs, some of them like Slim/CM9/Elite more times since last October/November. I've never had any battery drain issues since then. Therefore I dare to say that battery life depends on you (usage, settings) and not ROM/kernel.
