I'll do some study and try the SD build first, as you suggest. That at least has reduced the amount of material to cover.

Thanks again.
It you need help, don't be afraid to ask. People here are very friendly and helpful as long as you show that you are doing as much as you can to help yourself as well.

Get familiar with Android on the SD builds first before you switch to the NAND builds. Learn how to get a logcat also. Logcat reports help developers understand what the problem is when you have one. There are plenty of great guides on this site as well as in a Google search.

Good luck to you!

Got myself a rhodium100 for about $43 second hand. Loving it so far, and am having fun trying different droid distributions on it. (They seem to all have different issues, so I have to pick the one that best matches what I find acceptable)

Since I don't want to shell out money for a CID unlock that would cost me as much as I got the phone for (~25 USD from ebay).. Would a smart sim work so I can use my Sprint phone with ATT?

The RHOD100 has one. None of the US models have it.

The 110 does as well, but that's basically a 100 for the Australian/New Zealand market...

How much MP? Guessing it be 0.3, since the phones is old?

And none of the US models have any, eh? Geez... we are so cheap.

VGA 640x480

US carriers didn't support video calling over their networks at the time. The word from T-Mobile was that they didn't have the network strength at the time to handle video calling as a reliable service. That plus the fragmentation of video calling platforms that did not cross communicate would have made for a poor customer experience.

That's all I remember from an interview I had years back with a T-Mobile rep. I'm assuming it was the same or similar on the other carriers. 3G was just becoming a big deal when the Rhodium came out.

Allow me to ask, if I don't sound like such a noob . What does VA 640x480 mean? Does it mean 640 pixels by 480 pixels? And whats VGA?
Thanks.

VGA is the name of that resolution. 640 pixels tall by 480 pixels wide.

The phone's display resolution is WVGA, which is 800x480.
