If you can't get into BL mode, this means your battery's dead. Unfortunately, you can't charge it in the phone now, no matter how long you keep it on charge. Get an external charger or charge it in another Defy... just DON'T DO Macgyver - this can fry your mainboard or your battery can explode!

I am talking about external wall charger (meaning battery is out of the phone and in somekind of a cradle).

That's just a waste. This phone is very good when you get it right. I'm running cm7.2 with a few other tweaks and I get great battery life and no lag. At very least fix it and sell it, its not hard, like he said just use external charger then go into bootloader, flash proper froyo and your defy will live again. Please don't bin it :@

A method for downgrade from full sbf can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1216982

Not sure if it always works but success has been reported, ideally only flash fixed sbf in future

i think we can do use that method only if u have a CG5(BL5) or CG6(BL6) if am not mistaken...

but i've got CG7(BL7) .. it is going to cause some trouble... i think i'll wait to to see if in the future for a better method to downgrade BL7 ..

for now its working nicely on this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1604085
