Is anyone else seeing Easy Downloaded (or any other 2Easy apps) rebuilding the myalbum folder without anything showing up in the TCP dump? I can't tell if it's just backing the thing up (in which case, why rebuild it?) or if it is somehow sneaking past Adfree.

Default options on adfree

I have a question, no, actually questions.

Okay here we go:
1. What is Authenticate use for? Should I authenticate to use the full function of the app (if any)

2. There is so many options on the app such as:
a. Use /data/data/hosts symlink
b. Create symlink if needed
c. Local Webserver
d. Run TCPdump

What do those options do? which option should I activate to maximize adfree app?

3. When I open Adfree there are two options: "Show TCPdump screen" and "Boot Normally". What does it mean? Please explain?

Anybody kindly enlighten for I am a noob.

My best regards,

Chv

Hi, I've been using Ad free for some time now, but recently found I wasn't able to download one of my favorite podcasts. I thought the feeds were down, but after a week or so I emailed the podcast. They said everything was fine at their end. I tried to figure out what was happening by looking at the log on my podcast app, but was confused. It seemed the feed URL was refusing the connection. After realizing the problem might be on my end, I wondered if Adfree was blocking the feed URL. I tried to whitelist the URLs, but had trouble discovering which ones were associated with my podcast feed. I wasn't able to download my podcast until I reverted my hosts file, effectively giving up the Adfree function. Is there a way to see the list of blocked URLs? When I try to view the TCP dump, all I get is a blank screen. To echo ChevanLimon's questions: Is there a tutorial available for this app? How do I use the features? Can I selectively allow some of the blocked URLs through?
Any help would be appreciated!

Having issues with ads getting through. They're now showing up in google maps and OneLouder apps never got them blocked. Please fix
If you need help, try IRC #Cyanogenmod in freenode.net
Someone may be able to help you there. I will try, if I'm on.

I recently rooted my phone and the ROM I installed included Adfree. When I started the program I chose the "Boot Normally" option (I have since tried both) and was given the error message "Hit Fatal Error: This copy of AdFree is too old, please update to a newer version." I went to the market and did update to the latest version (0.8.44 is what market says, phone say 0.8.43). I still get this message even with the current market version. I would really like to utilize this program. Any suggestions?

I am using the newest SwaggedOutStock (X, Android 2.3.5) ROM on an HTC EVO 4G.

Thanks!

I switched to AdAway. I never could get the whitelist to work in AdFree.

Default problem with host entry

Hi folks,

why do you add

127.0.0.1 netweather.accuweather.com

to your hostfile/blacklist?

It interferes with the app found here:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1684076

For me there is no need for that entry.

Thnx & greetz,
cee.

Unhappy Adfree exceptions

How can I tell Adfree not to modify a certain app?

It filters NBC Nightly News. The app shows you videos from NBC. The app shows a image / caption link to each video. After installing installing Adfree it no longer shows the image link to each video only the captions. Is there a way to protect hosts entries to this app?
