Dock id?

What are the differences between Audi Dock and Audio Dock Output?
Seems that Audio Dock is an audio Input for voice dial and handsfree Profile?
Re-charge is the +5V supply pin? Has somebody tried to figure out with a scope if there are data pulses at the Dock-ID pins?

The official HTC car dock doesn't use the pogo pins, it only makes connection with the USB port. Bit strange considering HTC made the nexus one and It's car dock which used the pogo pins.

Yes, don't forget it's not just a USB port, It's also MHL capable. Probably pulls one of the video lines high or low to identify as the car dock. This is getting a bit off topic though.

Hi everyone. I didn't had so much free time in last weeks to play with HOX, but I'm back now. I can see that thread is growing pretty much, so I have to put something more.

Pins spectrums:

- Pin4 - Dock ID:

On standby:

Voltage cirka 1.65V and there is some kind of digital signal (or noise) in it. Voltage differential is about 15mV and triangles length is about 8ns.




Then every few seconds (5-10sec) Voltage falling to 0.66V for 25ms.



While playing music:

Very rare signal, similiar to that from first picture.



- Pins 2 and 3- Audio Dock, Audio dock output

On standby:

Pretty nothing

While playing music:

Very interesting spectrum.

There is three kind of signals. One is a sinus wave modulated with some other digital signal, then just that digital signal. It looks like depending on music, when sinus appearing or not. There is also some kind of impuls, also depending of music, I think.

Spectrum of pins 2 and 3 are pretty the same, but they are combined somehow (duplex?)

Both signals at the same time, pin 2 is blue, pin 3 is red:



Any ideas??
I can make some more measurments (Hz,V,ms etc.) Maybe can we figured out what kind of things HOX trying to send through....

Could you trigger dock mode (pull pin 4 down to GND via 1kOhm) and probe the Audio pins? Especially with audio playing.
