Mildwild: can we have an update please about the 5.1 release? Will it fix the networkconnection-problem some of us have?

Default Network Connection

I can also confirm network connection problem with Manu kernel (Gingerbread-HAVS-AXI-CFS) and MW 5.0. The same kernel was working fine on previous MW ROMs. I tried full wipe and also format all partitions except sdcard, but without success.

I'm going back to 4.9.1 till this issue will be fixed.

BTW On 4.9.1. I'm facing problem with power button - i cannot turn on the screen or after few tries, sometimes only fix is to put out the battery :(. It's not hw issue, as after clean install of MW 5.0 it was ok.

Anybody else with this problem ?
HTC Desire, S-OFF, ROM: MildWild
HBOOT: CM7R2, Kernel: Gingerbread-HAVS-AXI-BFS
Recovery: 4EXT Recovery Touch, Radio: 32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.23, HTC RIL: 2.2.1003G
microSD : A-Data 32GB, Class 10, (1GB ext4 for sd-ext)

Which a2sd script is the best for your Desire ?

Do you have that problems with stock kernel? Everything is right here on 5.0 but i'll try that kernel in two or three days.

I tried only with Manu. I'm back on 4.9.1 so I can't tell you. But according to others, its working well with the stock kernel.

I would not put a claim on rom and kernel, there is something wrong with your phone or the procedure how you are flashing the rom, or if you restore some applications (and which applications are restored, etc..)
I'm using the MW-5.0 with ManU CFS almost 6 days and have no issues, except that the battery last little bit less, but maybe I'm using the phone more often with 3g switched on, so that's also the reason.

Just flashed another desire, and right after the same manu cfs kernel and all goes well, so don't blame the rom and kernel, write the procedure and there is probably some step which is wrong.. someone will notice where is yours problems

here is my last report where you can see that I didn't have problem first day (link), and I don't have the problem now few days after, so I think that there is no problem in the rom,.. I will see (and report back) what is behavior of the rom (and manu kernel) on the other phone (just flashed)

so, my procedure is following:
1) backup
- applications titanium backup
- nandroid backup in clockworkmod recovery v5.0.2.0 ("backup and restore" menu, then "Backup")
2) wipe, format, clean
- wipe data/factory reset
- wipe cache partition
- mounts and storage -> format /sd-ext (it's already done with "wipe data/factory reset", but anyway, just to be sure that nothing left there on external partition), this partition is ext4 1GB
- advanced -> wipe dalvik cache, wipe battery stats
3) install
- install zip from sdcard (chose MW5.0 and confirm installation)
- install zip from sdcard (chose ManU CFS and confirm installation)
- reboot system now
-- wait some time (less than 5min in my case on both flashed phones) until the system is up and ask you for pin to unlock the phone
4) restore
- applications/system titanium restore (pick the accounts, settings and the applications which you really need and you know that they have some data which have to be restored, otherwise you can always install the application from playstore when you know that your phone is working correctly and then you can install it one by one and probably find the application which messing up your data on the phone)

As I can see there are lot of people with good and lot of people with bad experience, but as I have good experience with both phones I would say that there is something in the procedure which break something,..

I hope someone will found this helpful, I don't like to write long posts

thanks for instruction but i did it absolutely the same way and have the connection error! only difference: i think i have ext3 partition but didn't make any errors the versions before...
i guess it's more hardware related or ril - i have an desire first generation with amoled display -- which ril did you install?

EDIT:
1. ok saw it in your signature - i have same ril...
2. i have an desire pvt1 - yours is pvt4 :P

You have all links to the threads (files) in my signature, just follow the link
or directly to the ManU CFS, but rather follow the links and read the thread (at least first few posts where is explanation)
good luck
