Yeah, I have already checked that. Couldn't do it before, so I asked
Still, I don't understand why "downgrading" the WiFi connection to a simple b/g should help :/

As i understand that option enable force connection to N standart, even if AP is not support this. So thats why never-ending connections appear

Argh, trying to update the file, but it's protected. Tried to chmod and it says it's on a read-only file system.

Mount system as r/w or writable. How are you trying to do it?
My PM is NOT Q&A section! If you have problem with your device, SEARCH!

Use the SEARCH before you create a new topic! Why? Because you get the answer within few minutes! A topic can take days before you get an answer!

Thx, I figured it out. I was trying to use terminal emulator. Then I got a copy of ES File Explorer, after some searching I found the details on the mount that you recommended, turns out ES File Explorer has this capability

Unfortunately, updating the text file didn't do me any good. I'm actually trying to figure out why my phone turns off the data connection when the GPS signal comes on. Thought I'd give it a try since it was similar.

Regards,

Mike

I think the ht enable only affects on WiFi.

You could ask an expert's what file does have anything to do with data connection that located at system/etc.

Then you could mess around with the files text by changing the text number or whatever I don't recommend it though unless you know what you're doing

You need to understand the different between 802.11a/b/g/n.....

(A) 802.11a
Frequency- 5 GHz
Typical Data Rate - 23 Mbit/s
Max Data rate – 54 Mbit/s
Range – 115 feet

(B) 802.11b
Frequency - 2.4 GHz
Typical Data Rate - 4.5 Mbit/s
Max Data rate – 11 Mbit/s
Range - 115 feet

(G) 802.11g
Frequency - 2.4 GHz
Typical Data Rate – 19 Mbit/s
Max Data rate - 54 Mbit/s
Range – 125 feet

(N) 802.11n
Frequency - 5GHz and/or 2.4GHz
Typical Data Rate - 74 Mbit/s
Max Data rate - 300 Mbit/s (2 streams)
Range – 230 feet

by enabling the HT_enable, you devices can connect to long range wifi connection...the strength of that connection might be poor but still you can connect it without any problem...

by disabling it, your devices will on "G" mode...."G" mode is best in tight spot where there a lot of wall around you...this mode will connect your devices without any problem at all but lack of range on it connection...
