The Flashtool comes with an add-on called sin editor use it to dump,it will give an yaffs2 image as output which can be unpacked using this unyaffs.exe

Post Wifi issue neo v

Thanks a lot for the files, etc. the rooting technique worked. but there is a wifi issue.

i downloaded the 4.0.4 ics update ota using seus. it worked. the phone seems quicker and all. but the wifi is not working properly.

i go into the room right next to the router and the quality is extremely poor. it either stays at the lowest level or else disconnects continuously.

the wifi symbol has two arrows one at the left and other at the right. sometimes the wifi symbol reaches two bars and freezes!

the arrows dont come or only the left arrow comes. i thought it was the router problem but it works well on my sister's android phone and also on a tablet. 4.0.3 had a much better wifi quality.

can anyone help me please? hell i even go next to the friggin' router and still sometimes the problem comes. its very frustrating. i tried restarting the phone, removed and reinserted the battery but its still not working.

ROOT for LOCKED bootloaders
1)Flash 4.0.4(4.1.B.0.431) ICS and boot phone (links are in post#1)
2)Flash kernel from 4.0.3(4.1.A.0.562) ICS and boot phone. Flash only kernel, don't wipe anything!
3)download DooMLoRD's Rooting Toolkit for Xperia 2011 ICS [FW:.562]: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1601038
read instructions and root your phone
(in case you are on linux, thanks to cha0sxl go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=114)
4)flash back kernel from 4.0.4(4.1.B.0.431) ICS. Flash only kernel, don't wipe anything!

End of story.
Enjoy in your rooted phone with locked bootloader.

p.s. yes, this works for both, Neo and Neo V.
For Neo users, in step 2, you use kernel from Neo V of course.

In case someone is afraid that his finger will slip and that he will wipe something while flashing only kernel, I uploaded ftf's with only kernel.
MT11i_4.1.A.0.562_kernel.ftf: http://www.mediafire.com/?gwe739kn5mcx56t

MT15_4.1.B.0.431_kernel.ftf: http://www.mediafire.com/?xbwiq5ciw1nax2b

Now im tryng to root via this method but i cant.....

im flashing via flashtools the MT11i_4.1.A.0.562_kernel.ftf but nothing happens...
4.1.B.0.431 unrooted still remaines. what am i doing wrong?

Now I see you edited your post..

You didn't flash entire firmware so it's normal to see that build version hasn't changed. And same goes for kernel version, both kernel have same version number in settings->about phone

Just follow instructions.
