Wrong forum mate
I understand that you do not own an HTC Universal (Universal not means all HTC devices!, itīs a model. One of the best by the way)

HTC Butterfly - HTC One not coming... - HTC Universal Tomal WM 6.5

XDA is about developing and is for developers. Any user that recognises that will gain the most benefit from this site

This is and always will be a site for developers, pure and simple. Without them we are nothing, without them there would be no reason for XDA Developers to exist; we should never ever forget that. Without them this place would not be called XDA-Developers but something else, e.g Mobile Phone User Support Services For Ungrateful Nerds.

Previous devices: HTC: Treo 650 - Excalibur - Diamond - Diamond 2 - Maple - HD2 - Rhodium - Desire Z - Desire HD - Vivid - Sensation - One V - One X - Titan II - One X+ - DNA

Default Sync Problem

1 Remove the Enable advanced network functionalty check from the USB to
PC connection settings "Start > Settings > Connections > USB to PC".
2 Make sure that the Mobile Device is connected via USB to the PC.
3 Install Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 (either 32bit or 64bit, I installed
64bit)
4 Open Control Panel on the PC and run Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1
5 At the bottom of the application you will see Mobile Device Settings, and
within that you will see Connection Settings. Open the Connection Settings
6 Make sure that the second check box named Allow connections to one of
the following is checked, and that the Drop Down below is changed to COM
1 (or which ever COM Port your Mobile Device is connected to via your USB
cable) and save the changes
7 Disconnect the Mobile Device and Reconnect and hopefully it will work for
you.

I already done all the instruction, disable the firewall and antivirus, i also go to device manager too to update the driver/device, but still couldn't connect. Anyone can help me please.

using prophet wm5 upgrade wm6
vista home basic machine

Might be worth a try though.

Has anyone applied SP1 yet? What version of WMDC do you end up with?
Hi yes i've applied SP1 and my current WMDC is version 6.1.6965 working without any problem......

Cheers

Even this is a legacy thread there are some people out there (including me) still using Windows Mobile devices (but also using WP7 ...).

Had exactly the same problem and in my case just using another USB cable did it! It seems that WM devices are a bit "fragile" when using a not 100% perfect USB cable
Fujitsu Siemens LOOX 600 + TTN3
Nokia Lumia 920
T-Mobile MDA Compact II
