Is the Skyrocket the best phone on the market? No. Does Seanz make it a ton better? You damn well better believe.

The system is read only, you have to change to read/write

tried renaming samsungboot.qmg to OLD and rebooting and my stock boot animation is gone now but still the new one doesnt work.

am i misinterpreting the directions?
what rom are you using? your rom might not allow custom bootanimations.
HTC Mogul >> HTC Droid Eris >> Samsung Captivate >> Samsung Skyrocket >> LG Optimus G >> Google Nexus 4 >> HTC One!

Check out my custom touch recoveries for Samsung Skyrocket/Hercules/LG Optimus G/Nexus 4/HTC One

make sure you can acutally mod the system folder i find root explorer doesn't stick with me so i bought romtoolbox and used the root browser and it works every time all the time im running cm9 and i have touch wiz ux s voice and this beautiful nexus bootani make sure you match the perms as the rest of the files in the folder root browser allows that. just long press the file and options

Yes, it just keep booting up with the old animation. Perhaps, SkyICS does not support custom boot animation...

Tried rom tool box as well, even looked at the permissions of the old boot file and matched it to the new one, still didn't work.

I switched to both the F5 and F3 unsecure kernels and neither would let me change the animation.

The stock kernels don't but the modded F5 and F3 kernels are supposed to be unsecure and allow for bootanimation changes.
