Hey Mark,
Need to send my S3 back to Samsung :( Very annoyed but now I need to figure out how to get it fully back to stock and without any flash counters showing numbers greater than 0 etc.

What's the best way to do this mate? Will your tool do the job? I'm in Ireland so I gues I would need a stock Irish or UK ROM?

Cheers,
M

i have a telus model which is not US model but obviously will still not work.

any ideas on how to get out of this "brick"

thanks for the help
Can you still get into download mode ( pull battery and replace then hold Home, Vol DOWN and Power buttons. If you see a warning screen press Vol UP to proceed)?

Is Telus a Canadian carrier? If so then the hardware is probably the same as the US model with Snapdragon dual core and 2GB Ram and therefore the International boot image wont work. Also is it GSM or CDMA (LTE)?

If its gsm then try the recovery method in the TMOBILE forum and if its LTE then try the one in the AT&T/SPRINT forum.

If you have v2.0 then goto option 7 which will guide you through everything including resetting the flash counter.

Did you make a note of your About device screen before flashing anything? If not then I assue a UK Rom would be fine (probably XXALE8 as that was the original version).

Great mark! I didn't take any notice of what version I was originally on, should I still be OK? And will the UK ROM have any branding or bloat?

All the best,
M

No branding and only the Samsung bloat, no carrier apps are included.

Hey Mark Im having a problem with the tool-kit not picking up my serial number. I have installed the drivers and the tool-kit in the root and I have never used Kies nor is it installed on my machine yet after installing the drivers (phone Un-plugged) and then plugging it in and getting them to install I still cant get the tool-kit to show the serial.

IS there anything in particular I'm doing wrong?

Don't know if it helps but im running windows xp sp3 running both applications with admin rights :/
If I have helped you please push the thank you button

Phone: Samsung Galaxy S3 (Marble white)
ROM: XliteRom V1.4.0.0
Kernel: Latest Siyah

Great! Does the flash counter need to be reset before or after I flash the stock ROM? If before, will this flash not count as another one?

Cheers,
M

PS: When the ROM flashes does it revert the recovery to stock as well mate?

Default Is it safe?

Is it 100 %, safe to restore the stock room so we won't loose our guaranty on S3?

2. I can't install CWM Manager or Rom Manager from the ToolKit as they are apps from other people but you can find and install them from the Market.

If you root via option 1, 2 or 3 then the flash counter will increase as it does when flashing any custom firmware. I cannot include Triangle Away (chainfires app) but there are full instructions on how to use that in the Stock Rom Flashing section.

Mark.
On point 2. If I want to get one of them from the Market both of the apps are compatible with your Touch Recovery?

About resetting the Flash Counter, it's in Option 7 right? I didn't see it but obviously you must be in the process of restoring for the instructions reset instructions to pop up, correct?

Finally the dumbest of them all and just to get it clear, if I want to reset the counter (I am using the latest stock rooted rom) can I do it anyway just to be in the keeps of mind or it's a Warranty Return Only?

Thanks for your help and program.
