For the first time in my life, kies just connected to a phone. I cant handle it. I think im gonna pass out in disbelieve.

Anyway... lol.

Can i just update to gingerbread kg3 from kies?

Yes, but you may have a difficult time finding a kernel with cwm for kg3.

and now i cant get into recovery mode. Just download mode. I downloaded the stock firmware from samfirmware, and was gonna flash it with odin, but which file to i put it under? Its just a single tar ball

EDIT: For some reason i have to use power volume up AND down and home. Wierd.

I always use firmware from the link I gave you...just flash jw5 from link with 512 pit....then root with semaphore 2.7.4.tar from second link....easy.

After that you can flash cm9 in cwm...additionally slim 4.1...then slim common....then the Kg3 modem zip in cwm as well.

The lightning launcher is a little different... If he doesn't like it I recommend apex or nova launcher...enjoy, it's a great ROM.

I gave it back to him and he is getting sleep of death. He was using CPU settings of 1000max 100min W/ Lulzactive governor

I have never had this so, Anyone know how to fix this?
