Default Kernal/boot.img help

OK, I'm trying something with our continuums and it requires editing the boot.img file, which we don't have, correct? But whenever we flash a kernal, the file is listed as zimage, and our zimage the same as boot.img? And we do I find our kernal in our phone?

OK...so where can I find our boot.img...I'm using root explorer so I should be able to see it in there but I can't find it anywhere

Sorry... been out of the loop. Samsung does their boot setup a little different than HTC or Moto... With Samsung, we have zimage, which is broken down into initramfs and a primitive file system, if I recall. The initramfs initiates the primitive cache system (which is an rfs file type... hence the reason we do it differently). Once that is initialized, it starts the boot process in the kernel.

That site may help you a little with whatever you are trying to do.

Thanks! I found a guide for porting any nexus from to any sgs device and thought I'd give it a try lol
