Did you try that modified [no arrows] HTC keyboard yet?

Yeah I tried it but it didn't work for me. Just made my stock keyboard vanish altogether. If I could get that one working it would be my keyboard of choice.

The only rom I have used that the modified keyboard without arrows works with is sick sense.

man, I love Swiftkey, and Swiftkey 3 more than past versions. I can type fast as hell and it gets it right 99% of the time.

One thing that might help is to set the spacebar to "finish current word" rather than "always insert prediction". I find that this setting alone makes a huge difference. (** Which someone already mentioned**)
Also set it to "Rapid", rather than "Precise".

An issue I had with previous versions is that it suuuuuuuuuuucked to type in my email address which has periods before the @... I'd have to hit the period, select the leftmost prediction, backspace to delete the space it places after punctuation, etc. With Swiftkey 3 that behavior is gone and I can just blast through the thing.

You can unzip the ROM and pull out the stock keyboard and either push it to your phone or use root explorer to put it in /system/app and you'll get it back

I have no idea what you are doing not to have success with Swiftkey? I've been using it for 2 years now and it's way easier and faster than any other keyboard I've tried. I rarely have to finish or correct a word.

That's probably because you've gotten used to it.

I will say this, I changed the space bar setting to complete the current word and it's much better. Not perfect, but better. And I am getting used to it, aside from a couple corrections that I need to make here and there, I can type fast as hell with this keyboard.

Why the hell is enter/return a secondary function of a stupid SMILEY key? It's ridiculous that I have to jump through hoops to add a new line because Swiftkey thinks smileys are more important than enter/return. And no option to change it?

That's another big SERIOUSLY SWIFTKEY??? Man I hate this keyboard. But I love it.
