Do any of you notice any changes in battery life after the update? I was using the 0808 radio before updating. Now i kind of feel like the battery drains faster but this could TOTALLY just be my own frivolous suspicion.

If anything it seems like its lasting a little longer, which makes sense because a better signal should equal better battery life.

Battery life is definitely better with the new radio. Overall the signal is better than the 12/19 I was running.
Just updated hboot from 1.02 to 1.07. Got a little nervous when it didn't recognize my sd card. After three or four restarts, all was well again (whew).

Rooted/S-off all is good.

Downloaded update (2x even) moved to sd card.

Recovery:

"finding update package"

"opening update package"

"installing update"

"installation aborted"

file named as downloaded "PB31IMG.zip"

shows as 9.15mb on my computer....

Did you check the MD5 Checksum.......just because it says its 9.15mb doesn't mean it is exactly the same file. I think you have a corrupt download. Re-download and try again. Check the MD5 once the file is on the SD Card.

If you redownload and it still dosent work, you may need to backup your sdcard to your pc, format it fat32, and then put the files back and try to flash again. Sometimes an error on the sdcard is the issue.

You have to boot into hboot to install this radio. Turn your phone off, hold volume down and power button until the phone boots into a white screen.

Ha i just realized he said recovery and not hboot. Yeah thats definitley the issue, radios get flashed thru hboot, not recovery. Heres some info on flashing in hboot. http://pvillecomp.com/?page_id=79

Should I be overwriting the existing pb31img.zip that is already on my sdcard. Just wanna make sure. Never really flashed a radio before.

You can overwrite it or rename the one already there to what ever it is.
