Epsylon 5/08 build is just about perfect on my green lens defy. Video cam works, tethering, and the HWUI is working too. Panorama only works after clearing the dalvik cache, & cache. Sometimes. Opera mini works but chrome & reg opera does not.Through apparently Opera works when you use the chainfire drivers.

Default Does not work for me

I'm testing the 05/08 build from Epsylon, and flash is not fully working. In the native Android Browser I can read some flash, but most of the time, it freezes and I can't navigate anymore. I need to force close the navigator to use internet again.

Opera and Chrome don't work.

Will try with ChainFire 3D.

I'm using a Green Lens Defy

Question ICS for green lens defy

I had some problem with defy's mic and speak suddenly when it was running on Gingerbread, so I upgraded to ICS and saw the camera is not functional (later i found camera wont work on Green lens defy as of now), hence I flashed my defy back with Froyo 2.2.2 . When can I expect the camera to be functional on Moto defy with Green lens ?

Hello,

I was on defy green lens 2.2.2 stock rom,

i rooted it using SuperOneClickv2.3.3-ShortFuse,

then installed SndInitDefy_2.0 to get into recovery ,

then i tried to check the version from 20-may-2012

followed the instructions, installed ROM > Kernel > GApps

wiped dalvik cache

but the problem coming is that it is stuck into MOTO LOGo (Note: Not CM logo, its MOTO logo)

what should i do ?
Please help me as i think i have missed some step ..

Edit:

waited for 1 hour .... just stuck at moto logo...

then i restored stock rom from rsdlite and then installed the version from 14-05-2012

again same problem ..

I am new to CM9. Currently having MB525 red lens and it is running the latest 2.2 SEA rom.

Please help to clarify the following:
Prerequisites: Defy, rooted and with 2nd init installed. --> Should not be a problem

Backup your apps using Titanium Backup, Root Explorer, Astro File Manager or similar (to restore to the ICS ROM you will flash). --> Should not be a problem

Get the latest CM9 zip file (links at the end of this post). --> is this the correct one? http://defy.wdscript.fr/defy-cm9/CM9...213-jordan.zip or should I use the latest nightly http://defy.wdscript.fr/defy-cm9/CM9...20519-Defy.zip

Copy into your SD card. --> should not be a problem

Disable USB debugging. --> should not be a problem

Reboot into recovery (switch on the phone and hit volume - button when the LED turns blue; CM7 and similar custom ROM users can press and hold power, select recovery).
Make a backup of your current ROM. --> should not be a problem but I prefer to do SBF full recovery which I've done before

Do a factory reset/wipe data, then install the CM9 zip file. --> should not be a problem

Immediately after, flash this 2.3 kernel zip. --> Since mine is on Froyo, and I intend to use CM9 with Froyo kernel. Do I need to do this step?

Flash GApps zip file. --> should not be a problem

Clear Dalvik Cache (this is IMPORTANT!). --> should not be a problem

Reboot. It takes some time for Dalvik Cache to be built, be patient. --> this is the moment I am waiting for...

Thanks to anyone who is helping..

exactly the same was happening to me ...

i followed the guidelines provided in this thread, and i was left stuck at the moto logo ...

are the guidelines provided here already obsolete?

edit: OKAY!! ... Obviously my mistake ... my misunderstanding ...
Just read the guide again and i found what I did wrong ...

My MB525 is with SoC Module, thus I use Epsylon3's build which is using Froyo kernel.
And GB Kernel is intended for Quarx's build.

So, I just redo the SBF flash back to Froyo SEA, root, install 2ndinit, wipe data & cache, install CM9 & gapps zips, clear dalvik, reboot ... and VOILA!!

I am now on ICS 4.0.4 ...

Salute to the developers especially Epsylon3

Default Kernel question

Hi

I have defy with greens camera lens and have updated from android 2.2 , 2.3 , cm7 , cm7.2 , cm9 from fuzz and now the latest Epsylon3 build with froyo kernel.

Now then i look under settings - about phone i se this
Linux version 2.6.32.9-gb08c3c8 vfcj78@zch68lnxdroid50 #Fri Jun 3 11:40:33 CST 2011

Isnt that a Gingerbread kernel?
Should i grab this kernel defy.wdscript.fr/kernel/kernel-froyo-222-179-4-signed.zip?

I have no issues all thing seems ok, i have edited the build.prop so i have full HWA.
