If you look in the i9000 development thread there's a captivate version posted by someone towards the end of the jb ROM thread, untested.

here's my opinion.. As long as the Nexus S gets love from Google clever XDA devs will find ways to port the latest OS to the Captivate.

The Nexus S for all intents and purposes is a Captivate with a FFC/NFC and better GPS.
captivate retired with cm10.1 nightly> Sony Xperia TL

Rom: XperimenT V1.7.1
rooted: YES!

I have tested the version from i9000 it boots up and you can play with it a bit but its extremely buggy and reboots all the time... it is indeed extremely buttery though
