Any chance we could get an experimental no-encryption build?

As described by the android developers in:
http s://groups. google.com/forum/#!topic/android-building/ H9WfXZy_1kI
(remove the spaces)

If the developers there are right, it could be a work around for us people who suffer from the "Encryption Unsuccessful" bug, simply forcing ICS to think that there is no encryption.

To the guys with the battery problem - Can you install CpuSpy and post a screenshot?

We shall release a new kernel soon, humberos has re-written parts of the battery driver, that a few other changes, stay tuned.

And, for the guys having the installation failed thingy - make sure you're on a P1000L ROM if using p1l (overcome sets device model to P1000, even for p1l builds), and make sure system is mountable from recovery.

You were looking for this, weren't you?
Please, cdesai, be quick! When I was taking the screenshot with 77% battery, suddenly I found myself with just 3% remaining, in less than one second! :-}
Than you for your attention!

EDIT: But what would happen if I chose another kernel, but remaining in CM9? Could the battery problem be solved?

Something seems to be really wrong with the battery driver, just waiting for humberos to come online and then i could do test builds with the new kernel.

Be assured guys, we're trying to get a fix out ASAP

Test kernel.

Built from humberos sources.

Flash it using heimdall, and let me know if battery life improves.

gonna merge them into the cm kernel this weekend

Hi declan79,
My batt drain was like yours and no deepsleep before.
Then I use BetterBatteryStats and found out "svnet" was cause kernel wake lock.
It was my modem. I use JL5 modem and it caused that. Now back to JPZ modem and fine.
Maybe you can find out what causes wake lock.

I flashed the kernel you said, and now the result in CPU Spy is more similar to Declan's one. Shouldn't it be worse, since the 1 GHz frequency is used more?
However, I'll do a test of how it works and I'll tell it you.
