wuchoo talkin bout!

i need my 10.1"... i need my 8.9... i need my 9.7 (ok, so i have an ipad too). i needed a 7.7, but i don't need another contract. i had the og 7gtab but sold it to get the 8.9, but i still miss it as a good ebook reader.

the 8.9 is a perfect tweener more portable than my 10, but big enough for comics. just a wee bit too big to palm as a ebook reader. so i NEED a 7 incher again, i think.

only downside is that it's asus and they're pretty bad with their QC. great products, but you might have to go through a few to find a good one. i had gone through 4 transformers before i gave up. all the problems i read about the prime has kept me from getting one of those.

Look, generally speaking I love tech gadgets and in the past I have been impulse buying them only to get buyer remorse soon after...
I "think different" now (), I realized that all I actually NEED are: a smartphone (I got a Note, some of my best spent money ever), a tablet (I got a G.Tab 10.1" 3G) and a laptop (I got a high-end Acer) which at home I "transform" into a desktop PC (24" EIZO LED monitor, wireless Logitech desktop set, NAS RAID hard-disks, Hi-Fi speaker set, scanner, printer etc.). In the last few years I tried to "simplify" and make my life as stressless as possiple in many ways, having less gadgets to "maintain" is one.
An on-topic example: I fancy the Galaxy Tab 7.7" quite a bit, it's a wondrous piece of tech. But, I realize that I just don't really have a use for it..

I would have jumped onto a nexus 7 had I not seen the microsoft surface pro keynote the week earlier. Now I will wait to see what that is like. I would trade my gtab 10.1 for a nexus 7 in a heartbeat. I'd sell it if i could get a decent price on it alas no-one would pay me anything for it now (I wouldn't give anybody $100 bucks for it where the situation reversed)

So now I wait for microsoft and will re-evaluate at the end of the year. Don't know why you all love this tablet so much. It's slow, and laggy and has crappy accessories. To type on it you need a case which nullifies its low production weight. GG

Between the two, you'd have to be crazy to go with the GT10.1 over the N7. The GT10.1 is slow, hasn't gotten ICS even yet (so chances for JB are non-existent), and old. I love my GT10.1, but will be selling it once my N7 arrives.

AU$ 100 (€ 81)?!? You must be joking, you would instantly sell it for double that over here, can't believe they are so low down under (pun intended )... Heck, at € 80 I would take one myself

OK, early January 2012: what would have you rather bought?

I wouldn't buy it again now but I would buy it again in early Jan simply because it WAS the best around.

Still today, it's one of the lighest if not THE lighest 10.1" tablet around (something which is very important to me), is well built, has very good Wi-Fi reception, is very thin, can be OC no prob to 1.4GHz, is has practically everything but SDcard slot, I like Samsung added apps, services and personalization (yes, HC is crap but that's not something unique to the G.Tab), it has all of the accessories I need and it's even very good looking too.

Moreover, having used ICS KANG ROM for months I know the G.Tab will run better once the official ICS comes out and it will keep on doing the things I do with it now well enough and I have an extended warranty on it until 2017 and all of the accessories I list below so I see no need to waste money on a new tablet which is NOT going to change drastically my tablet experience. BTW, the ones I might be interested in are not even out yet...

and has crappy accessories.
What's crappy about its accessories?? They seem to be rather complete in assortment and good quality to me. Care to list all these other tablets with more and better accessories?
I myself have the Samsung Desktop Dock, the Samsung USB and SD connectors, the Samsung MHL HDMI out, a Tucano Radice bag (but Samsung makes several), a Samsung car charger, a Brodit car mount and a Belkin foldable stand (plus a small Trust bluetooth keyboard+trackpad which I use sometimes with both the G.Tab and the Note). They cover all my needs they all are very good quality.

Excuse me but apart from the Transformer tablets isn't that the case for EACH AND EVERY tablet out there..? BTW, for use AT HOME the Samsung Keyboard Dock is a pretty good (and pretty cheap) accessory which very few tablets have.

"Between the two" that's the only crazy thing I see and keep on seeing here!!

The primes problem was the aluminium back, the radio was fine!

Ordered the Nexus 7. It will be used for gaming as the tab is too big for many fps games and portable use as its pocket sized, the tab will stay at home for comfortable browsing.
