[Q] Backed up modem

Im going to try using custom roms again but I want to make sure i still have the same modem/baseband. I backed up my modem using the zip on this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=102 but I don't know what to do with it. Do I just flash the zip?

If that doesn't work is there a way to extract my modem?

Your first question is answered at the begining of the post where you got the flashable zip to EXTRACT YOUR MODEM (so I guess this also answers your second question)
