Dang. Could've used this to get out of contract instead of paying $75 ETF to jump ship to Verizon but it was still worth it paying for Verizon's excellent LTE coverage, throughput and unlimited data.

$75 ETF? Dang, how long ago was this? I thought they were significantly more now a days...

Anyway, unlimited data is only going to be available for VZW if you start to buy all your phones off contract, so full Verizon price. Don't think they're not going to gouge the crap out of the upcoming phones because of this. I don't see it being too far off where Verizon top-tier phones are $800-900 off contract, while the same phone is still $550-600 on other carriers.

They'll get theirs, you can bet on it.

This may be bearable for a single line, but once you start adding on a line for a wife, or whoever, the cost will be way too prohibitive to retain unlimited data.

ETF depends on how long you have left on your contract. If you terminate with 2 years left, you pay a lot more than if you terminate with 2 months left.

11115 is a bit dated. I'm using 11119 these days and that may already be dated as well. I haven't searched for a newer one in a while.

So Sprint can tell the difference between streaming Netflix on my phone w/ the Netflix App vs watching on my laptop tethered via the hacked hotspot?

Yes. PCs use different size packets.

Nope. Your pc routes through your phone when tethering. The same packets are sent.
The headers might be different, but I doubt sprint monitors that. They just assume that you are tethering when you use huge amounts of data.

If that were true a lot more youtube junkies would be getting letters. Seems to center around tetherers. There was an article about how easy it was for the carrier to tell if you tethered. Will have to look for it.
