I know this forum is dedicated to the international version of this phone but it seems to be the most complete thread for this process on the S3. That being said I have a Verizon GS3 that I wish to modify but I have stumbled upon a differance in the design of the Verizon S3. Tell me what you guys think.

Why did you have to throw a wrench in my plans?! I just got my touchstone kit yesterday... Guess I'll wait & see what other, more knowledgeable/braver people have to say. It looks like the extra two pins have something to do with the sim card but that's just a guess. Since they're right next to it and the plastic is molded straight to it...?

Looking at mine, there are some white letters just to the left of the left pin. They are partially covered by the sim card slot & I can't make out what they say.

Anyone else?

I have no idea what they are but its possible they have somthing to do with the SIM...but what? The cover has no antenna's or anything on it that coincide with those leads.

Based on this quote from Engaget:
"You're going to see one key difference here that doesn't apply to the other Galaxy S III models we've reviewed thus far: a set of shiny contacts for inductive charging. Verizon's been purveying of wireless power for over a year now by incorporating golden contacts into almost every LTE phone in its lineup. Aside from this unique feature, everything else remains the same as its GSM counterparts (Sprint's GSIII is different in that it utilizes an embedded SIM card)."

I wonder if Verizon asked Samsung to build in a second pair of contacts to work with a cover that will work with Verizon's charging pad???? I do beleive thier pad utilizes a different inductive charging standard/technology.

I did this on my Galaxy Nexus and used 8 magnets instead of 4 metal discs for a sturdy car mount setup (yet to be made). However, I use a custom kernel with a AC fast charge method I set with a toggle. That takes me from USB charging (350-450mAh) to regular AC charging rate (700-950mAh) according to my battery monitor pro app. Point is, once the sgs3 kernels are really in full force, I'm sure the fast charge will be a kernel option (if it isn't already). This mod rocks! I have touchstones in my room, family room, car, and work so easy charging is just a magnetic dock away The touchstones are sooooo cheap now!

Hi guys, here's my take with copper tape. No soldering required and alignment is very easy.
Also if you run CM9, there's no annoying "now wireless charging" pop up

For the Verizon GS3, the contacts to the left of the phone work as charging pins (like with the other versions). I solder the Palm pixie charge pads to them, and wireless charging works. The top pad of the palm pixie to the bottom pin on phone and bottom pad to the top pin. As for the pins next to the sim, no clue what they do.

Im wonder why the gs3 still shows charging even when it states battery is 100%, and the charge led is still on. This is with wired and wireless charging.
