I have had problems with Bluetooth disconnect issues as well in my 11 focus with sync...worked great on stock but not so well on several gb and is roms. Will try tweaking some sleep settings on Phone Bricker tonight and post back.

Update...

I was testing BT on the way home on Phone Bricker 2.5 and left it on the charger and it streamed audio all the way home (about an hour). Unplugged when I got home. Turned off the car, and then back on...reconnected via the phone and all was well. Will see what time brings.

On a semi related note. Does anyone else with Sync have people complain about low audio?

The trick with Tasker is to figure out a way to lock out deep sleep.

Here is what I'm testing today,
To use Tasker, the plugin for Tasker, Secure Settings, and the Helper app.
After installing Tasker and Secure Settings apps, run Secure Settings. On the "Settings" tab, under "Helper", tap the option to install Helper. This will install Helper, and require su permissions.
In Tasker, I added a profile for BT connect to car, with a Secure Settings/Helper task for CPU awake only, Manual ON.
Next, added another profile to Tasker, BT connect, checked Invert (Should activate on BT disconnect from car), added Secure Settings/Helper task for CPU wake only, Manual OFF.

I'll post later if this works as I intend.
Thanks a lot for the "recipe", it works great! It took a bit more than 10 secs to figure out how Tasker works, but its a great tool.

Default Other issues included

I have a Sony BT Stereo in my vehicle. I will have my SGH-i777 on, using Google Maps, and it will just reboot or freeze up. The stereo doesn't have any problems at all.

It's a bit more than "deep sleep". Is there a new ICS Kernel that has these problems worked out?

the last post in here was from two months ago. And to answer your other question-go look for yourself. There are several ics kernel threads in the development section. You could also search through those threads for just your issue.

He probably posted here because I answered a post in another thread with this one as a reference.
There are incompatibilities with some bluetooth car stereo equipment and ICS. These continue and no real solution has been found.
The disconnect issues can be avoided by using the techniques mentioned in earlier posts in this thread. The rebooting seems to be a different issue.

Ended up here following Shibblet's post and daverup's link.
I'm having same problem Shibblet has.

I found many people are having same problem (freeze and reboot) on i9100 with ICS.
According to posts I found, it has something to do with Samsung's android 4.0.3.
Works ok with 4.0.4. Only problem is there is no 4.0.4 with stock UI. (At least to my knowledge)

I hope someone is able to find exact cause of problem, and find real solution.

The BT disconnect problems are still there on AOKP, which is 4.0.4.
Maybe there is something else in the Samsung 4.0,3 roms which is causing the reboot.

Seems as if there is no solution for this problem. I was hoping it was just a kernel issue, but apparently it has more to do with the OS in general.

On another note: I do look for myself. I only come to the forums after I have expended hours of searching and just can't take it anymore. It can be infuriating when you find hundreds and hundreds of threads talking about similar issues with no flippin' solution.

"Well, it's 2am now, still can't find anything by searching, I have to work at 9am tomorrow, and I am no closer to having my phone fixed than I was at noon." - Tell me you've never done that before. :P

And regardless, isn't that the point of the forums? To ask questions and be assisted by others who know the answers? Seems like it would save people a lot of time if they just posted questions to begin with, huh?
