hardly possible as all telephony-related stuff gets overwritten by backed-up items (rild, libril*.so, apns-conf.xml, etc) when you nandroid-restore it.

ordered my replacement pdmi socket, will continue development when my streak is repaired.

For the double notification, can you turn off notifications in the messaging app and test whether you get any at all?

I tested like this and it's working except if i do it like this i can see the name of the person only the number.
Personal attacks and / or superiority complexes are unconstructive, off-topic and unseemly. I would ask you to try and limited them ... With bowing.

How bizarre!

Is there anywhere else (another messaging app hidden somewhere) that could be generating these notifications?

When you get an SMS notification that isn't from the SMS app, and you open it, does it take you anywhere other than the default messaging app you disabled the notifications on?

Or, could you install GoSMS and try sending a message from the contact list (It'll then ask for the SMS app to use) and see if there's any more than the default app and the Go SMS app?

It's all good info for the OP I guess

I used TB to freeze com.android.smspush to see if it would stop one of them, but I'm still getting both notifications.

Edit: froze Google Voice, same result.

Found the culprit!

I used titanium backup to freeze "Simple Message Receiver" and the duplicate notifications went away.

Now to figure out if this is supposed to be integrated into the ICS Message App or how its supposed to function.
